LL,

Yes, that makes sense, I actually did see that post last night and replied that I think he was 100% right.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Monday, my guess is that most of the effect already has occured as the stock already tumbled on the mere news of NVAX being taken off the biotech index.

Repost from Yahoo MB:

roksteady33's quote:

"...that is not the purpose of my posts. Unlike you I do not think in devious terms...

There is no ulterior motive and I don't attend mysterious and secretive meetings in some hidden bunker somewhere!

I NEVER write a single post trying to "suck someone in!" Take it or leave it. I really don't care!

These boards are simply a way for me to express my excitement and beliefs in an investment. I post nothing but my true feelings regarding a stock I own and the reasons I own it. Really quite simple. Argue all you want...but that's the simple unadulterated reasons behind my posts.

p.s.....GO NVAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

My reply

"Yes, like rok stated, Yahoo finance MBs are "public forums" to express one's opinion. Often "all kinds" of topics and comments get posted on finance MBs, and that's why I maintain my home MBs at 3SOF for those that want a collection of "hopefully" useful and factual information.

I don't bash or trash on Yahoo finance, Raging Bull nor 3SOF MBs. I do try to share "pertinent information" as I see them, but I am not perfect and not always right (and I openly posted that fact on 3SOF MB).

I try to post links with all of my 3SOF MB postings so viewer can verify my source and form their own opinion.

I am a newbie stock trader (since July of this year) who is just trying to learn to be more effective stock trader. That's all.

I too have hopes for NVAX, but there are over 20,000 publicly traded stocks that are making GOOD gains every single day!!!

If you are Novavx investors, then you will hold "long" for months and years.

If you are trend investor, then you will follow the trendable stocks.

If you are stock swing traders and allow yourself to "miss out" of these great gains (AOB, HOM, CDE, BIOM, VRA, and for Roth IRA accounts HANS) then you may want to "reclassify" yourself as day/swing/trend trader or long/"buy and hold" investor.

I started the new swing trading 3SOF MB not for "long" investing. As I disclosed on the first post of swing trading MB thread, swing trading is fast, objective and done with a "small" percentage of your overall portfolio. David Randolph uses one stock position of his 3SOF portfolio to swing trade (Fast 3SOF folder with 1-3 stocks).

Good trading!"

anyway, i thought i'd post this message just so this thread doesn't get relagated to page 2!

it's a whole new ball game.

stopthemadness,

actually, NVAX looks ready for another gain cycle and I may be buying NVAX tomorrow if there is sign of another rebound (the swing trader in me  ;)).  I watched NVAX all day today and it held above previous close despite some selling pressure.

Time will tell tomorrow, but with bullish market trends returning there are a lot of good stocks in rebound or gaining pattern (just look at HANS today!) and as a swing trader, I must participate in these "swings."

Here's Lycos I-watch activity for today and week.  Looking good, and I will follow the Institutional/Money Manager's lead and look to buy back in tomorrow for another swing trade with NVAX.  ;)

[D] Investor

Is NVAX REALLY trendable again (as you said earlier)? Look at GNBT, just fell below 50 DMA on 3-mo chart. NVAX has a similar chart... so will NVAX follow through? Both charts look bearish on a downtrend.  RSI and MACD indicators don't look too great for these 2 stocks and they're bit volatile. Even if you swing trade, you might get max $1/share... why take such risk to look at these two stocks when you have many other ones on fire as well? The time for bird flu stocks such as NVAX and GNBT will come... just not yet. My 2 cents. Bigger caps are on fire lately... check out AAPL, YHOO, KOMG.

stopthemadness

shaping up to be a pretty good day for nvax. looks like a lot of buys at 3.29/3.30 today.

plus iwatch shows institutions are back in. follow the smart money, isn't that the saying around here?

LiveLife

Another day of solid blue arrows at Lycos I-watch with Institutional percentage increased to 2%!  Chart trend looks to be approaching another rebound.

Any longs here?
Recent activities indicate accumulation ~$3. I believe we will keep close to 50 day MA until we get some news.

gielda2003,

Sorry, but I've been swing trading other stocks (GEPT was my last swing trade) while I wait for NVAX's "true" rebound activity.  When it does, you will see me swing trade NVAX again.

Right now, I am "fractional day/swing trading" with GZFX.OB:

If the action in NVAX is anything like it has been in the past for similar big time momentum stocks (although the situation is different due to the fact its a bird flu stock), I think NVAX should be seeing a big time bounce off the 50 ma.

I'm losing slightly on a position I've had the past few days, but I think the risk/reward at this point is in favor of the long side.  It'll have to make up it's mind pretty soon, though...

Buyhigh?

I'm down just a bit myself waiting for the rebound.....

Do not worry about NVAX. It will be fine. It went up on the hype and now pulled back to the support at 50 day MA. It will bounce off it or will keep close until news arrive. Look at the positive signs:
Institutional buy at $4.30 (4.2 mln shares)
Insider buy at ~$3 (45 000 shares)
Increased short interest
flu season
