Actually, VPHM going from $2 to $22 was a nice achievement.  The recent drop is attributed to VPHM losing their Vancocin market to generic production in anticipation.  Whether this was due to "panic" or not, much of VPHM money seemed to have gone into popular Avian plays like NVAX, GNBT, HEB, etc.

This NVAX thread titled " ...another VPHM???" may be fitting if NVAX follows in VPHM footsteps in terms of gains to $20+.  If that's the case, then GNBT MB should be titled "... another NVAX???"

Had to jump in this afternoon. The stock has evolved from 'going up every day' to parabolic today. I'll keep a close stop on it. I don't want to be the one of the ones without a seat when the music stops playing. Maybe it breaks $10 tomorrow!

I agree, this stock and the avian flu field have gone parabolic  .. hopefully the disease will not .

update NVAX:

First off  and 2nd some history:

Monday 3/13, evening: decision made to buy NVAX.
Tuesday 3/14, morning: NVAX bought @ 6.30
Tuesday 3/14, mkt close: NVAX closes @ 6.65, +5.55% from our buy
Wednesday 3/15, mkt close: NVAX closes @ 7.00, +5.26% on the day, +11.11% total
Thurday 3/16, mkt close: NVAX closes @ 7.30, +4.29% on the day, +15.87% total
Friday 3/17, mkt close: NVAX closes @ 7.36, +0.82% on the day, +16.82% total
Monday 3/20, mkt close: NVAX closes @ 8.31, 12.91% on the day, +31.90% total

So a week has passed and now we are up over 30% on our trade..thats nice.. but we haven't brought it home yet    NVAX rewarded our patience..literally every day(and thats the way it should be)  but now I will ask for even more 

It was a huge day for the whole bird flu vaccine group..basically if you had a vaccine to fight H5N1 in a press release, ever, your stock was up..period.  A pure frenzy out there.  I will not speak about the news here or vaccine development.. I'm not qualified and I dont think anyone has the scoop on the inside scene anyway.  Lets stick to technicals.

NVAX is following a steep trend line, blue support, on this chart(magenta on my previous charts).  In this craze, its time to get aggressive with the trading plan(which will be updated each day) and be prepared!

The following is only for Tuesday 3/21:

The Stop:  Moves up tight to 7.75.  If the trend is to remain crazy, yesterday's candle cannot be eaten through.

The Target:  The channel projection gives us a target of >$11 for tomorrow.  That would be a gigantic move but if this happens we will be prepared to sell.

Personally, I believe NVAX needs an exhaustion day before it is ready to slow down.  That would be signaled with a gap up and HUGE volume!  The volume on the move today is actually quite tame and leads me to believe NVAX wants higher. 

We will sell NVAX if it hits our stop @ 7.75 or >$11, otherwise hold.

$11 target not so crazy, stocks have a habit of re-tracing historical levels / situations. This long term chart shows NVAX dropped from $11 ish to $5 zone in 1 day (in early 2002). Now it wants to eat up that 1 day historical red candle and get back up to $11 zone. Hang on for the ride....

I don't like shelf filings, but if you're gonna file one best to do it when the stock is on fire. For me my short term strategy has been comprimised by this news, I have closed my position in pre market for a nice 6 day gain. Will look for re-entry again if this takes a trip closer to the shelf price / support.

I still stand by my long term chart earlier today though (just don't think it'll be this week..

The offering stock is being sold @ $7.30 which is really quite high but that was still enough for NVAX to hit our stop @ 7.75.

I think thats around a 23% gain in a week.    We'll take it home.

I have never seen a public offer do good for stock price.  BRVO, AOB... and they all go even less then the offer.
