I think this stock is up on the bird flu speculation.  They don't have any particluar drug for it, but speculation is speculation.  And momemtum is mometum.  And we must go if it's up.

Keep on watch.

REALDEALS21

UPDATE:

NEW YORK, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Viragen Inc. (VRA.A: Quote, Profile, Research) on Friday said preliminary in-vitro studies of its drug Multiferon showed that it was effective against the virus that causes avian flu, sending shares of the biotech company up more than 80 percent.

The early-stage studies, conducted by the not-for-profit Southern Research Institute, showed that Multiferon was more active than other products against the H5N1 influenza virus.

Viragen said it believes the drug, sold in 10 markets outside the United States for infectious diseases and cancer, may have "utility" against the virus, and that it is a prime candidate worthy of further evaluation.

The company said it included the results to supplement a patent application it filed with the United Kingdom in February 2004 to cover the use of its product in treating and preventing avian flu in humans.

Shares of the Plantation, Florida-based company rose 29 cents to close at 65 cents on the American Stock Exchange.

In the afterhours, this thing broke resistance of 0.70 and closed at 0.79, which is another resistacne point. but the volume is tremendous and there seems to be little doubt this will go to $1.00 and beyond come monday....

right sector play at the right time IMO...and the drug is already in use in several countries, albeit for other treatments.

any thoughts?

I missed this one at this time the news was released, or I would have bought all that I could in the .40 to .50 range.  I did pick up a little during the after hours, and agree that we should see $1.00 easy on this news.  It will probably be a bumpy ride, as investors who bought in the .30's, .40's, and .50's will continue to take their exceptional profits, but the volume was absolutely tremendous beginning at around 3pm on Friday.

I plan on continue watching VRA on Monday market open for the next swing trade.  I was trading BIOM on Friday.

Any opinions on this bird flu player.  I'm in on GNBT (playing it for the Oral-lyn too!) and STTX.
