Ygtrdr,

Okay, thanks for the feedback.  You're doing fine.

This morning's high of 16.39 was the third hit  (#5 on the chart) to the top of this Bull Flag.  XING sold off from there, to 15.89, but has come right back to the top of the flag, champing at the bit for a breakout.

I am going to try to post the Xing chart because there seems to be an upward channel starting from the beginning of 01/07 until now(we are currently sitting at the bottom of the channel and moving slowly up).  I hope this chart posts okay.... Does this chart mean anything to anyone(I hope it works!)?

It's difficult to tell from these intraday charts, but it looks like we broke out of the Bull Flag in the Hourly chart.

Data Points #5, which is a validation of resistance at the top of the pattern, was yesterday's 16.39 high, so we want to see 16.40 get printed, for confirmation.  The next objective on the upside would be Data Point #3, 16.80.

It didn't post, Brandyjoco.

Here are some tips that other members gave me.  I've got more, if you need them. Just ask.  Try to save your chart as a .png or a .gif.  I use .png.

Good luck!

2.  The Free Way:  open up the image you have saved in paint.  Use the line tool in paint to draw in lines.(make the lines thicker)  Circle tool is useful.  Text is a pain but doable.

**saving an image** - if you have a chartup on the screen that you want(or any image) you can capture it with 1) a capture utility or 2) by pressing the printscreen key on your keyoard (Note: that key is next to F12 on my keyboard, in the top row).  When you press the printscreen key on your keyboard it saves the image to the clipboard.  You then open up paint or some other image editing program and paste it in there (Note: click Start...then Accessories...then Paint...then paste it there).  You can paste by holding the ctrl key down and pressing V at the same time...or look in the Edit tab.  Save the image and remember where this is!  Oh save as a.jpg or .gif  You cannot post an image that is bigger than 150 kb i believe.

**to post image** - When you are writing a post in 3stocks there is a button underneath the text editor called Additional Options...you hit that and then hit browse to locate the chart saved on your computer.  If you want to attach more, hit the more attachments button.

Thats what I do.  []

How to post chart without horizontal scroll if you are using a PC:

1. stockCharts.com, use "medium type" of chart, click "Add Annotations" button,
   then draw all the lines, add text etc.;
2. Press "alt + prt screen" keys at the same time;
3. Run "pbrush" program;
4. Select "Paste". The chart will be put into the window;
5. Click "Select" button, then use mouse to select the chart area  you need to show to us,
    finally "Copy" the selected area;
6. Select "New" and click "No" to save changes;
7. Use "Paste" again, the newly selected chart area will be on the paint window
8. Select "Save As" and save as .gif format

You are done.

QuoteHope Q4 revenues will be more than $180mil with operating profit
>$40 mil ::)

Gee, aren't you expecting too much voova99?

The company reported just $89 M revenues in Q4 2005, and the estimate from Dutton Associates calls for $153.49 M revenues and EPS of $0.66 for Q4, 2006.

Why do you have such a high estimate?

Well, it would be great :D

XING is slowly recovering ground, but the real bullish move will probably happen after the stock breaks out of the $17.17 resistance level on close, with volume above average. That will probably take it to the low 20's pretty quickly.

I'll continue holding XING.

Nice Bull Flag breakout.  16.80 MADE.

You must read Kevin's posts from Avalon board .
Q4 is strongest quarter in China, and two fold from average revenues
in Q1  Q2 and Q3.

BTW, Q4 2005 revenues was close to $140mil.  ;)

Nice Bull Flag breakout.  16.80 MADE.

17.42, the top of the Bull Flag, also MADE today (not shown on this chart, for some reason.  The high was 17.48).

What a nice day for XING, after that Bull Flag breakout, huh?!

Sure was Melf. Hopefully we see continuation to the upside tomorrow.  >:D

Is there a big cup n handle formation starting from Jan 04? I only have 1000 shares right now.

I missed this one as my husband was on the computer this morning and I had to get to work!

Cup and Handle:
TREND:  To qualify as a continuation pattern, a prior trend should exist. Ideally, the trend   "should be a few months old and not too mature"  . The more mature the trend, the less chance that the pattern marks a continuation or the less upside potential.
CUP:    The cup should be "U" shaped and resemble a bowl or rounding bottom.
CUP DEPTH:  Ideally, the depth of the cup should retrace 1/3 or less of the previous advance.
HANDLE: After the high forms on the right side of the cup, there is a pullback that forms the handle.
DURATION:  The cup can extend from 1 to 6 months, sometimes longer on weekly charts. The handle can be from 1 week to many weeks and ideally completes within 1-4 weeks.

There seems to be a large cup and handle on XING from 04 until recently but that is 3 years - so is it valid since 3 years is longer than the preferred 1 to 6 months timeframe (as listed above)? It seems to measure from the top (17) down to the bottom (5) giving $12.  Can someone help me on this? Thanks...

Hey Brandyjoco, I wouldn't stress too much about cup and handle pattern etc. XING is in a long term uptrend which over the coming months / years will see it reach fair valuation relative to it's peer group and growth prospects (as long as they continue to move to more transparent reporting and sales remain strong). XING is at 6 year highs. What is fair valuation? Anywhere above $20 and below $100 LOL.
XING is way undervalued, but that is due to historical mistrust of management and reporting issues. Take a look at institutional holdings. Bear Stearns have taken a 10% stake in Q4, they know an undervalued growth play when they see it  http://www.nasdaq.com/asp/holdings.asp?mode=&kind=&symbol=xing&symbol=GIGM&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&symbol=&FormType=Institutional&mkttype=&pathname=&page=holdings&selected=XING

Institutions have been accumulating XING these past 6 months or so big time.

My advice is go with the long term trend and follow the big money. If you are looking at this as a long trem play that is, which for sure I am and have been for a lot of 2006 and 2007.

I posted this chart back in Oct, I haven't changed the comments, it still remains valid.

Avalon board? Never heard of it. Can you please provide a link? Thanks :)

Yep, I see now my fundamental service is all messed up on XING's numbers >:( Probably this has to do with those "poor reporting practices" that we've been talking about.

Another thing I've been writing is that it doesn't matter which papers they file, in my opinion XING's business is a $1 B plus business, not a $411 M as the current share price implies.

Technically the stock closed yesterday above the critical $17.17 resistance level, at a new 6 year high.

Nothing else to do but to sit tight and let the profits run on this one too.

Lol Vova, your link takes me to a MSN page in Portuguese (Brazilian Portuguese).

But I understand, that's probably an MSN group, right?

Well, I have my own technical and fundamental reasons to own XING as one can read on this thread from the beginning.

I'm pleased with yesterday's close, the second one above the all important $17.17 resistance level. The stock should be ready now for another white candle to new highs.

I'll keep holding XING.

David Randolph

XING closed above $17.17 and, as importantly, it did so on a day that the general market declined. That shows relative strength. If XING were to trade at a more "normal" ten times 2007 estimated earnings, it would be a $25.3 stock. And we all agree 10 times earnings for a company growing like XING has been growing is still an insult.

So, nothing else to do but to buy and hold XING.
