Caledonia Mining Corporation (CALVF.OB). The Group's principal activities are to acquire, explore and develop mineral properties for the exploitation of base and precious metals. The Group acquires properties and projects early in the development cycle and then add value by operating or disposing of the asset. The Group owns properties in Canada, Zambia, South Africa, and Democratic Republic of Congo with exploration potential for gold, diamond, platinum group metals, nickel, copper and cobalt.

CALVF's revenues were $17K in 2002, $501K in 2003, $701K in 2004 and about $3M in 2005. Market cap is $38.82M.

I know the company sold many, many shares and the share count is already 352.87M shares. But still, with so much euphoria over gold companies and CALVF.OB still in the south, I think this gold penny stock with some revenues can indeed produce a good rally.

I'll buy CALVF.OB for the 3 Pennies on Fire Portfolio, 10% of capital or about $1,150.

Nice pick David, I like this one .This one looks like its about to launch.
Take a good look at a 10 year chart on this one.
IMHO, I think this stock is very undervalued by the market. The stock has an 8 year base with prices mostly below 0.15 cents during that time period. If this stock can get above 15 cents, that upside resistance should become the new base for a new uptrend.
What are your thoughts on these comments David?

Hi folks,

Excellent speculative pick, David...much like my LNXGF.OB, SLGLF.OB, these all should ramp beautifully as gold heads to $685, or so...$785 could be in the cards for this year as well, IMO

Best to all...

Thanks willey  :)

Yes, CALVF.OB looks nice, both from a technical and fundamental perspective (well, very speculative). If you have the time, look at the company's website for more information about this gold micro cap.

Gold will probably continue its long term bull market, in good or bad economic conditions.

Caledonia Commissions Plant Expansion at Barbrook Gold Mine
Monday , January 23, 2006 09:01 ET

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan 23, 2006 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX) -- Caledonia Mining Corporation ("Caledonia") (TSX:CAL)(OTCBB:CALVF)(AIM:CMCL) is pleased to announce the completion and commissioning of the metallurgical plant expansion at its wholly owned Barbrook gold mine in South Africa.

The expansion project effectively more than doubles the plant milling capacity and includes crushing, primary milling, flotation, carbon removal, ultra-fine grinding, oxidation and resin-in-leach circuits.

Stefan Hayden, President and CEO of Caledonia, said "The plant expansion will enable Barbrook to increase its gold production target to 22,0000 ounces per annum for the 2006 financial year and take advantage of the current high gold price and positive investor sentiment towards the metal. The mine's underground development program has identified substantial additional and accessible ore sources which will provide sufficient mining flexibility to meet the increased milling target of 18,000 tonnes per month"

Caledonia continues to be unhedged and debt free.

Further information regarding Caledonia's exploration activities and operations along with its latest financials may be found at www.caledoniamining.com.

Hi folks,

My read on gold is that it is going to about $630 prior to any real correction.  Silver is going to about $12 before.......

So, this little tyke should scream higher, IMO, if things play out as I anticipate...

Enjoy the ride!

As la-onda posted, we had this news on CALVF.OB: Caledonia Commissions Plant Expansion at Barbrook Gold Mine

The news says this: «Stefan Hayden, President and CEO of Caledonia, said "The plant expansion will enable Barbrook to increase its gold production target to 22,0000 ounces per annum for the 2006 financial year and take advantage of the current high gold price and positive investor sentiment towards the metal. The mine's underground development program has identified substantial additional and accessible ore sources which will provide sufficient mining flexibility to meet the increased milling target of 18,000 tonnes per month"»

So, just from this mine the company now expects to produce 22,000 ounces of gold in 2006. At an average price of $550, this is $12.1 million in revenues, compared with about $2.5 million in 2005.

I'll continue holding CALVF.OB with confidence, I really like the developments at the company.

CALVF.OB is starting to move higher again after a consolidation phase. Volume is also picking up. The next leg up should take this gold penny stock to $0.163-$0.13 = $0.033 + $0.163 = $0.196.

That's a 78% profit from my $0.11 buying price  :o

I'll continue holding, really have to go deeper on penny stocks. With some simple fundamental and technical tools we can make serious money on percentage terms here.

Stefan Hayden, President and CEO of Caledonia said: "The commissioning of the Barbrook gold mine expansion project in South Africa is virtually complete. There is ongoing optimization of the expanded metallurgical circuits but I am pleased to report that generally the plant is performing as expected. Caledonia Mining Corporation (TSX:CAL - News; OTC Bulletin Board:CALVF - News; AIM:CMCL)

The first news:

«The placement, which was handled by fiscal agents in Europe, was for 33,287,626 units priced at $0.105 each. Each unit consists of one common share and one share purchase warrant. Each warrant entitles the holder to purchase one common share of Caledonia at a price of $0.20 for a period of 24 months from the date of issue.»

This is less than 10% dilution for now. If the stock goes over $0.20 in the next 24 months there can be more dilution, but nothing special.

The money will be used to expand mining capacity, and we're already expecting a 5 fold increase in revenues from the only mine operating, the Barbrook Mine in South Africa.

The second news is just the company filing to list shares that may come from the conversion of warrants on the AIM, a British Exchange. No news here.

The news of the private placement took CALVF.OB shares a bit down but I don't think they will go lower than $0.10, and the upside is quite significant, specially if they can open more mines to start producing Gold, Platinum and Copper. The company has several properties.

I'll continue holding and studying CALVF.OB.

Nice 14% move on CALVF.OB  8)

I wonder if the stock will be able to cross over the current level, since it is a short term resistance level.

I'm making 25% on this penny pick, but I still feel the stock as undervalued. A little life from gold futures and will make new highs on this ... I'll continue holding CALVF.OB.
