A Dow theorists states that given any stock price that acheives a new high.  Where the new high beats the old high by one penny is bullish.  Until such time that a new low is conceived, between two top peaks, that exceeds the previous low by one penny.  In which, instance the stocks action is bearish.  But, what you see here is the acceleration of that process.

But, it has a beautiful weekly chart.  However, unfortunately you'll need to wait either for a surge back to weekly highs this Thursday.  Or wait untill next week and if it gaps up over this weeks close on the open.  It should be safe to buy.  But, it all depends on how it recovers from that bearish daily chart caused by todays

LS action.

Today's candle don't look so bad. Retraced about 60% of the marubozu on about 60% of the prior day's volume. I could see a nice pennant forming out of this. I think the cheap ethanol plays like GSHF are going to see serious action in the coming months. It's going to be crazy stupid. The bird flu players know the bird flu is played out. They need something new to hype while they're waiting for the next killer disease (fish flu?). While they're waiting for that, ethanol plays could easily fill the space.

hey LS - I posted this on another thread. Wanted to make sure and get your take on it. I need to know, can I have my cake and eat it too?

I found this link in a thread at 3SoF a while back and bookmarked it. It's "20 Rules to Stop Losing Money" in trading.

http://www.hardrightedge.com/wheel/hrerules2001.htm

One of the rules is...

14. Don't join a group -
Trading is not a team sport. Avoid stock boards, chatrooms and financial TV. You want the truth, not blind support from others with your point of view.

Which is of course very applicable to all of us here. I've got mixed feelings on that rule. Groups like 3SoF make trading more interesting and introduce you to stocks you might miss if you were running solo. On the other hand you are also at greater of groupthink and chasing stocks that have already run up. I'd say groups elevate emotions which can lead to bad decisions.

One real life example for me is ONEV. Two days before 3SoF bought it I had received a PM from a subscriber asking my thoughts about it. I told him I thought it was done short-term and not a good buy. The next day 3SoF introduced it and bought the next open. So did I, against my previous judgement. I was swayed by the groupthink and by the arguments in favor of buying.

It's a conundrum because I enjoy trading groups. They help keep my interest level in the markets high. I like reading and posting on the boards. But on the other hand I do see evidence in my trading records where it has a detrimental effect. One thing that might behoove me is to just read the subject lines of messages. Get the ticker, plug in into Stockcharts, and make a decision. Don't open the message and thereby receive input that can affect my decision making. This would be hard to do because I like reading the messages. Can't I have my cake and eat it too??

I don't think so.  But, ENDE was a double not a double top.

I'll respond to the prior when i have some more time.

Quasi - your observations have merit. I have seen this group's effect on some penny stocks, such as NIHK and ONEV, where it seems members may have helped create a false breakout that went nowhere. It can be a big game of musical chairs in some cases.

Pursuant to my previous thread, today I refrained from reading most posts. There was only one thread I looked at other than this. I'm going to mostly just read subject lines, grab the ticker from there and do my own analysis. I don't want too much noise cluttering my thought process. The one thread I will avoid like it was bird flu is the G-TA thread, because when people post there it is usually for G's input on stocks that are up a huge percentage either that day or in the last few days. The daytrade momo game is a hard one to win at IMO. That's not my bag. Works for some, but most lose their asses playing that game.

Stick - I know you're looking to buy a bottom. How about MCZ? It's forming a rounded W-bottom. Volume Tuesday was about 4x but the price didn't budge. That could be good, could be bad. Should we knock on the Door and buy? Maybe our lucky Number will be Five. As in 5-bagger.

Quick look at the i minute chart for yesterday seems to indicate a large cross early afternoon of about 1.25 M shares, thats why no price movement.  Now some body wants alota shares and some one else is willing to give em up ??  Or is some executive exercising options ??

Either way makes for an interesting print on the chart,  sometimes I think the MM's just move some stock around to create some interest.  Time will tell.

Paid a 1.74 for CRAY today near the close.  Nice bullish engulfing today.  The rule was if it closed a penny above last weeks close it was a buy.  It did that.  I must also admit that i bot HEC at .90 but chickened out because of the big seller at .90.  So, i was in at .90 and out at .89 in 15 minutes.  I just don't trust oil being this high and last i looked we had a bearish harami hammer on the $WTIC.  Even though a new high had been reached and the lows week/week were matching.  It just didn't feel right and somebody with a shit ton of shares was sitting on the ask with over 300k shares up for sell.  Then again there was a big buyer at .88 that wasn't as noticeable because the bids were at .89.   But, for all the buying at .90 the ask stayed at 300k shares.  I didn't want to stick it out.   So, i went with what appears to be bullishness in CRAY.

hey LS - aren't you going to submit a pick for the contest 5th edition? Deadline is before the market open tomorrow. I know you missed big with NERX but you gotta have that jump shooter mentality. You gotta keep shooting the rock.

LS - btw I bought HEC at .89. The close was the highest in over 2 years. I also saw that big seller, but there are so often smokescreens on Level 2. Who knows what that joker was up to. Maybe he was also the big buyer at .89 and he had the large sell at .90 to scare away other buyers. He gets more shares at .89 that way and if he has to sell a few at .90 so be it, that can be a good profit if he's playing with a big wad.
