So would it be ridiculous chasing to buy into VPHM at this time?

Unbelievable, non-stopping run for VPHM.

$20 is not far away.

shawFund

I don't think that the stock will run up to $48 without a correction (10% - 20% down from its top) along the way.

But $20 near term target without correction is possible.

Long term (one year) to $48 is possible. Look at IMCL, DNA history. If you have a unique market dominant drug, the market will push it into unbelievable levels.

$18 is my target.  I just added on the dip @ $14.93

Good luck and God bless.

added at $14.80 too   :)

Do I smell a short squeeze?

I would like to see more TA sustaining every opinion otherwise its a waste of
time .

Do your own DD.

IMO, the MM's were at work.  Nice H/S pattern today.  Monday, options pressure will be relieved and should make for a nice ride...hopefully.  There's always a chance it will pullback and setup a "3-rivers evening doji" but let's hope not.

I'm still in 'till $18.

Caveat emptor o caveat venditor.

I want to thank (and applaud) Michael for giving a fundamental backup to VPHM besides Vancocin (you can read it on page 16 of this thread).

The company has an interesting pipeline indeed.

Technically, this two step forward, one step back is an excellent way for the stock to continue pushing higher. This trembling way of advancing makes a lot of weak hands sell and then they need to buy back higher, fueling the rise. For sure a gap up would end the short term advance phase, because there's so much short term profits to be made, and those are usually made at and after a gap up.

This way, there's no gap up and the stock just keeps on rising, every two days. For example, with the kind of candlestick pattern we got on Friday, if VPHM opens higher on Monday it won't be a gap up (only if it were to open above $15.35, the high of the day), so the higher open has a better possibility to propel prices and give us another long white candle.

I got this knowledge of candlestick theory, which is a powerful short term trading tool, from reading some books on the subject, but specially from watching thousands of charts and making thousands of day trades on the DAX futures.

But we're not making day trades or very short term trades on VPHM. We're long term investors on the stock, for as long as the market agrees with our long term view.

If I did not buy the stock at $9.8, I will not buy the stock on its way up unless I see a
pull back now either at $13 (previous resistance) or $13.8 (short term trendline).

Just my opinion.

But it already pulled back on wednesday and closed at 13.52$ with a low of 13.28$!

Doji Star Bearish

Pattern: Reversal
Trend: Bearish
Reliability: Moderate

How to Identify it

First day is a long white day
Second day is a doji that gaps in the direction of the previous trend
The shadows of the doji should not be long
What it Means

In an uptrend, the market builds strength on a long white day and gaps open on the second day. However, the second day trades within a small range and closes at or near its open. This scenario generally shows erosion of confidence in the current trend. Confirmation of a trend reversal would be a lower open on the next trading day.

Please read Mr. Randolph's post today.  Gotta look at the big picture...I'm sure it'll fall a bit, Newton proved that (what goes up, must come down ;) ).  However, it's not a bad sign.

It is still a bullish trend, imo.

rickjust

yes,
i didn't mean it to show an overall bearish trend, really just to show a possibility for a retracement over a day or a couple of days and then a return to an upswing
thanks,
maxi

VPHM base count was reset with the 8/12 drop to $9.74. So for those who didn't already see this, the 8/16 breakout was a 1st stage breakout. This is just one more indicator of renewed strength for the upcoming trend.

I still see a strong uptrend - only being held back by Merk.

The talk on the boards is strong.  The company has a legitimate product and is headed towards 20.
