hey folks,

whoz into soccer here? man, i just saw one of the the most exciting matches of the world cup just now...

Ghana beat Czech Republic 2 - 0 !! What an upset that was...gives USA a chance at going into the 2nd round even if they end up losing to Italy.

Oh by the way...

Elite G - congrats on your home country going into the 2nd round!!! Way to go!

this is just the beginning...I'll be positing more on this topic as the games progress.

Something to cheer about during the bad markets the last few weeks!

bocasva..

was at work during live telcast of the Argentina match...but yes, I caught it on the recording at 5.00 pm...Argentina was a blast. but I don;t think Serbia was a great team yesterday, they pretty much gave in after the first 2 goals. and towards the end of the game...those goals were like giveaways...i mean, serbia was a bunch of dead-men walking on the field towards the end.

i'd like to see the Argentinia - Nederlands game this week. that should be a ripper!  ;)

Ouch!!!

There's no way Brazil can win the world cup with Ronaldo and Adriano on top. I've never seen players in this level so out of form. Ok both played better today than against Croatia and Adriano scored a goal but Brazil is much better with Fred and Robinho as forwards. They have the best player in the world with the best passing feet but Ronaldinho looks ordinary with these two players just standing still. Robinho at least runs like crazy like a maniac all over the pitch. This gives Kaka and Ronaldinho all the opportunities to do magic.

There's a lot of hype surrounding the team but they're NOT that good with Ronaldo and Adriano. Hope Perreira would realize that.

vic666

agreed....here's my take on what Perreira might do. Now that Brazil is a confirmed go for the 2nd round, Perreira is gonna give Ronaldo another shot as a starter against Japan...and he fails then again, Robinho will start in the 2nd round, in place of Ronaldo.

I'd disagree on Adriano, he's shown some deft moves and he definitely knows how to control the ball and keep it in possession.

Don't know much about Fred, although the goal he scored today was really a team effort and didn't really show any particular skills of his.

and yes, Ronaldinho is as dead as a camel in Times Square...all that hype has only put more pressure on everybody...but again, they aren;t new to the hype/pressure/build-up.

I'd still place my bets on Brazil to win the World Cup.  ;)

Ouch!!!

I may be cheering also for Engand but I placed my money on Brazil so I want Brazil to win.

Adriano isn't himself the last six months for Inter. Fred on the other hand is topscorer in
Lyon and number two behind Pauleta in the French League. He just move better than
Ronaldo and Adriano at the moment.

Brazil's second goal is Fred's making. He first turned around from a defender and tried to free
Kaka but when it failed he gave a perfect pass to Robinho. Then he ran in front of the goal
and scored when Robinho's shot rebounded from the post.

Brazil is through so they have a lot of time to improve themselves.

Good thread!

Man that USA/Italy game made me so upset.. the referee was so horrible it is like the game didn't even happen!  The coach for USA, Bruce Arena, needed to get off his ass and get thrown out of the game to charge the team up... terrible.  I think the US looked better than Italy.. and I dont think that's saying much.

I'm excited about Ghana.. man if they can play like that Thursday against the US it could be a great game.  They looked awesome against Czech Rep.  South Korea/Switzerland could be good.. also Germany/Ecuador and of course like Vic mentioned Argentina/Netherlands.

Brazil seems to be able to play ok and still win games.. I think they are at a different level and will turn it on when challenged.

Lets see whats tomorrow.. hmm boring matches

Tuesday looks nice  ;)

Oliver:

You will have to include a picture of argentinians in your gallery, after all ... will
be at the eighths finals playing with Mexico or Portugal that seem to be amongst
the best teams.

Tomorrow you will see most of new arg  players vs. Netherlands saving those
you already  saw, for eighths and quarters.

Fair play and good show to all :D :D :D
