Fundamental Trends:

Trading Idea:
PPS just had a breakout to new highs with volume above average, its chart has been performing a bullish triangular consolidation for the past few months.
This is primarily a technical play; the downside is limited with 2 supports in close proximity: the $48 breakout level and the ascending support at $47.25, a short term target for this breakout could be set near $51 this give us an interesting risk/potential scenario.

Trading Plan:
We'll buy PPS today at or near the open.

Update:
PPS is still consolidating the breakout zone; we need to wait for price developments.

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $45.50)

Update:
Finally some action after the recent price consolidation... PPS closed at a new historical high after testing the ascending support on the beginning of the week.
The date for the Third Quarter Earnings Release and Conference Call is already posted, and that will be on October 30.

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $45.50)

Update:
Again, PPS moved into new highs, the breakout is now more clear, the $48 zone should be a support level, some consolidation may occur, but current pattern suggests continuation to the upside.

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $45.50)

Update:
PPS made new historical highs last Friday, after retesting the breakout zone; this gives some more consistency to the pattern we are trading.
$52 could be the short term target of this breakout, so if PPS manage to get there soon we'll sell it. We are also upgrading the suggested stop level

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop or limit sell order for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $47.75 and the suggested exit would be near $52)

Update:
News:
- Post breaks ground on Richardson development

PPS reached a new high during the session, but failed to close above $50. There's not much to comment here, this is a «slow» stock, and it is trading accordingly to its chart pattern. The plan is the same:

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop or limit sell order for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $47.75 and the suggested exit would be near $52)

Update:
Press Release:
- Post Properties Announces New Construction in Tampa

Nothing new on the TA front, PPS is not a regular «on-fire» stock, but its trend looks very solid. This trading plan is not ambitious, but we expect to sell this position soon near the $52 level.
For the short term, PPS has been trading a small range with $49.50 acting as a support; below we have $48.90 as the main ascending support, this looks like a consolidation range, so we'll keep the same plan for now:

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop or limit sell order for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $47.75 and the suggested exit would be near $52)

Update:
PPS was downgraded:
- Post Properties downgraded by Wachovia
- Ahead of the Bell: Post Properties

Therefore, the stock was considerably down for the past few sessions... The Technical pattern got a bit deteorated, the ascending support was broken, and PPS is now testing the $48 support level... Our risk here is minimum, as we are changing our suggested stop to automatic stop... most likely we'll be stopped out today, but we don't want to hold PPS if it breaks this support level anyway.

Trading Plan:
Hold PPS with a stop @ $47.75
