Així és la Catalunya, així és el Barça! Mès que un club!!!

joet

I like the alternatve energ plays, but it seems to me that we have to break the 1.76 resistance and 50dma before we can believe that CPST has bottomed...  Still watching
Cheers Joe

The market isn't helping very much either,it doesn't look like a good time to buy, I'm all in cash now ...

Yes, I saw your post and the target of 1.36 was made but since then it looks like there's a reversal going on, wanted to know what you think of it?

Se7en,

This excerpt pretty much summarizes my feelings on these trades:

[I admit that I'm tempted by the Triple Tweezer, those last two Doji Stars, and the fact that it's a good risk:reward (if it doesn't gap down), but I'm going to pass on it since it's a trade against a very strong bearish trend.

The risk:reward back at 1.24-1.25 was very good, using a tight stop.  The biggest risk is a gap down, to which every stock is vulnernable, but stocks that are in strong downtrends are more vulnerable than usual.

hm, just bought some CPST @ 1.50

You've put yourself at a bg disadvantage in the trade, entering 20% above 1.24-1.25 support.

Looking at the chart, where would we expect to find resistance?

"Former support 'should' act as resistance."

Former support was 1.74 -1.75, so using the 1.75, that's 16.66% above your entry.  Your logical stop is below 1.24, or 17.3% below here, so the risk on the trade is slightly greater than the reward.

Yes, CPST certainly could got higher than the 1.74 - 1.75 resistance, but think of all of those candles at that level and above as players for The Bears.  They didn't sell the break of 1.74-1.75 support, and at the 1.24 - 1.25 lows, they had a paper loss of a minimum of 28.7%, if they bought at 1.74.  Their losses are much greater if they bought at the 2.05 - 2.10 highs of the pattern, or much worse if they bought above that pattern.

What are those players "likely" to do, if they get a chance to get out of a horrible loss?

What are one year's worth of players who are stranded above 2.23 - 2.25 (August, 2005 - July, 2006) "likely" to do, if they get a chance to get out of a horrible intermediate-term loss?

The fundamentals, of course, could be a factor if the company has good news.  But, based strictly on the technicals, this stock has had at least 16 Bear Moves that we've identified, and it's heading into "first resistance," at 1.74 - 1.75.

Suggestion: Try to set up better risk:rewards.  You're disadvantaged on a risk:reward basis, and further disadvantaged, trading against the trend.  You understand that I don't mean that as a personal criticism at all, but rather, as an explanation of the trade, as I see it.  "Just my opinion."

Good luck on the trade.  I hope it's a winner for you!  ;)

You're absolutely right Melf Elf, I shouldn't have followed my feeling on this one!
Thx for another valuable lesson! <applaud>

Just sold @ 1.50!  :)

Se7en,

I hope that I didn't talk you out of a winning trade, but independent of what CPST does from here, I do think that you can set up a better risk:reward, especially if you're going to play against a trend.

We should get paid well for attempting that.  ;D

Good luck in your trading!

Se7en

No, like you sais risk/reward wasn't good and in all my 'enthusiasm' I forgot that + I didn't like it's performance today.

Chart looks to indicate a reversal......JMHO,of course.
Looks like it may have put in a bottom here @ the $1.25 area.

Afternoon volume and price surge....
Based on technical chart reading, I would have to think we witnessed the bottom.

Don't know for sure, food for thought though...CPST was added to the Russell 3000 quarter end 6-30-06, huge volume on June 30, again at quarter end Sept. 30.

Company has been looking for a new CEO, have they found one or perhaps getting close?

Move downward from $4.00 to $1.25 done mostly on below average volume for an extended period after huge move from $0.90 to $5.89 on huge volume last year. Still trading well below 50- day MA and 200- day MA.

Did it find a bottom at $1.25 ?

Last conference call, had pushed back return to positive cashflow from 2nd quarter '07 to 3rd quarter '07 despite 74% increase in sales over the prior period. Are we going to see a real, perhaps huge upside surprise when the 3rd quarter numbers/conference call are made public ?

setravis,

It "could have," but do we want to fight a downtrend like this, when we're right up against resistance?

I jumped back in this one on Oct. 18th @ $2.40,
located on page 7 of this thread.

You've been in a tough, tough spot for the past year, riding it up, then ridiing it down to 1.24-1.25.

Ugh!  :P  >:D

Since the top in the mid-4.00s, this has been an awful performer.

I was going to post on CPST last weekend in Melf's Workshop on the Personal Log Board.

Topic: "Identifying The Trend"  CPST: 16 Bearish Moves    :o

The recent rally, exactly to RESISTANCE, at 1.74-1.75, is Bear Move #17. UGH.  :P

Yes, the 1.24-1.25 low "could be" THE bottom, but this stock is a great example of "Don't Bottom Fish," and, "Sell at breaks of support," and "Don't fight the trend."

There's been nothing bullish about this chart since Bear Move #1 in April.   :P

This has been a tough, tough trend to fight.  You've held it this long, so  hopefullly, it will rally and bail you out, but just a suggestion: Don't fight a trend like this one.

Been there.  Done that.  UGH.

SeeingGreen

Avg 1.31 sold a few addding on dips, might see a dip back to the 1.30 level as the stock failed to break the 1.68 level.

stay tuned

setravis,

I've misunderstood your posts on CPST.  I thought that you've been trying to find your way out of the long position that you posted.   Glad that you've been out.  ;)
