NEW YORK, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Media technology company Sonic Foundry Inc. (SOFO.O: Quote, Profile , Research) said on Thursday it has priced a public offering of 3 million of its common stock shares at $3.75 each.

The public offering is expected to close on Dec. 27, it said.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Sonic Foundry said last month it may periodically sell up to $42.6 million in common stock.

Is SOFO a go go again?  Came down to touch it's 50ma after breaking a pretty steep ascending trendline.  If SOFO does find support in this area, it may need some time to regain it's strength after this current 22% correction.

Successful test of the 50ma again.  Indicator's crossing and turning north.  Let's see if SOFO can break back above that ascending trendline and the 20ma.

Sofo took out triple top resistance 3.88 on friday on good wolume and it could be time to take a closer look.

Sofo had a very nice 2006 starting of a bit short of 1 $.
A 3 drives pattern took it to a high of 5.14 in december before retracing primarily because of a privat sorry public placement in late december which netted 13 mill $.
The stock found support in 3.50-60 area and has tested this area 2-3 times.
The money was necessary in order to attract new imployes and not getting unnecessary pressure from bigger customers when negotiating new orders.
Some of the proceeds has been used to build out existing server infrastructure.
First q results showed a loss of .01 but saw a 84 % growth in revenue yoy.
The company expects breakeven or better for the following q's and expects 20+ mill revenue for the year.No guidance yet for 2008+.
Sonic foundry showcased their very powerfull searchtechnology in the fall of 2006 including Advanced phonetic search algorithms and has now implemented the technology on their Mediasite.com page.The technology is a result of a 20+mill $ resarch project which came out of Mellon university in the 90's sponsored by nasa darpa and ibm .The technology was aquired in 2001.
The company see this as a competitive tool when going head to head in competition for new orders but is now seeing increasing interest in the product in new areas --- content management etc .
The company has positioned itself for larger deals now -- lots of their existing customers has started purchasing the mediasite product as a pilot project and Sonic foundry is now seeing bigger orders from existing customers and with that new service orders ----- Lots of classrooms will be going online the coming years and lots of content needs to get managed.

Here's a weekly chart that offer a larger picture approach .
Notice the fast stoch crossing and what happened the last 2 times we had a similar setup .
There is still room for the crossing to get burried so this might be a bit premature also considering the overall market conditions but worth putting on your watchscreens.
