Yea, was a bit annoyed with myself as I called it wrong on my sell, but at least I corrected that mistake and only lost a few pennys (and a few shares).  The last few days has almost been too much for me - yesterday was really ugly -  and left me over 10% down for the month, despite some very solid gains.  So have sold a lot that concerned me.  But AVNX shouldn't have been one of them.  Am reading Remenicences of a stock operator right now, and it is such good advie - if you're getting worried, sell your losers, let your winners run!

No doubt AVNX will be a winner - I am sure we will see a move towards 2.00 over the next month.

AVNX & BCON started the day at $1.42 and they are still side by side. wow!. I've had to suffer with both but today a little redemption. I will get that book, I've been meaning to, just not alot of time these days. I've been hanging on to SIRI and it's killing, but I just can't let go.

Avanex to Release Dual Parallel DQPSK and SSB Modulators for 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s at Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC) 2006

FREMONT, Calif., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avanex Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNX - News), a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next- generation optical networks, today announced the introduction of its SD10-DP and SD40-DP Lithium Niobate modulators for the Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) modulation format, which enables higher transmission efficiency at 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s. The DQPSK modulators will be displayed at OFC 2006, booth 2640 March 7 - 9, in Anaheim, Calif.

ADVERTISEMENT
The DQPSK modulation allows higher spectral efficiency in DWDM transmission. The small optical bandwidth of the DQPSK modulation format dramatically reduces the need for dispersion compensation in the network. Ten Gb/s transmission is improved due to the increased dispersion tolerance of the DQPSK format, which makes the DQPSK an ideal format for ultra-long-haul and submarine transmission. Moreover, 10 Gb/s signals can potentially be transmitted on 25 GHz (or less) channel spacing grid.

In addition, the DQPSK modulation format enables the transmission of 40 Gb/s signals over existing 10 Gb/s network infrastructure with either 50 GHz or 100 GHz channel spacing. Also, the tolerance against polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is significantly improved with respect to other modulation formats, reducing the technical hurdles for deployment of 40 Gb/s transmission in existing 10 Gb/s networks.

ok I have no idea what that PR means but there is no doubt about it, AVNX is ROCKIN 

That is 4 PRs abut new product releases in as many days in the run up to this big Optical Fiber Communication Conference - there is no doubt that they are turning things around and lets hope they get some good press off this conference as well.

ll I can say is MY GOD semi-conductor stocks are hot right now!!!  JDSU, FNSR, CNXT, AVNX all rocking these last few days - I'm sure there are more.

What I like especially is look who's winning now

Beacon interests me because its a growth stock, Avanex because its a turnaroud and now I am back looking at CRAY, another turnaround. It was an exciting week. I hope next week can be similar.

That's my double (hee hee)

Well not quite in reality as I sold out and re-bought slightly higher, but a double from my original purchase price of $1.15 a few weeks ago.  Man I wish last months stock picking contest ended this week instead of last week.  Oh well, such is life.  AVNX looking good for this week, I really don't know when it is going to top out, but looks very strong once again.  A LOT of money moving into this stock, and probably more good news this week.

Man I really wish I owned more of this....  (but VERY happy with what I got )

Wow what a white knuckle ride on AVNX today

Was up huge in the morning, peaking at 2.66, then battled with support/resistance at 2.57-2.58 for a while before breaking down along with most of the rest of the semis I was watching at the time.  Things got pretty ugly for a bit, but she finished strong, up over 18% for the day.  I was in and out, but ultimately didn't rally make anything, just increased my position a bit.

AVNX continues to look strong, with volume increasing today once again, but also a bit dicey - it's gonna have to consolidate these gains at some point, and I think a lot of people will starrt getting itchy with their sells soon.  Will see what tomorrow brings... hopefully a little bit more
