VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2005--Pivotal Corporation and CDC Corporation (NASDAQ:CHINA - News) -

Constructech Magazine votes Pivotal Homebuilder Front Office one of the hottest technologies available to US homebuilders

Pivotal Corporation, a leading CRM solution provider for mid-sized enterprises and a subsidiary of CDC Corporation, today announced that Pivotal Homebuilder Front Office is the only enterprise-caliber CRM system selected as one of Tech's Hottest by leading residential construction publication Constructech Magazine.

Constructech Magazine is a magazine that is uniquely focused on the construction marketplace, providing industry professionals with the expert business, automation, and technology perspective necessary to make sound decisions that ultimately improve bottom-line results. The annual Constructech Tech's Hottest Award recognizes companies developing products that best support the homebuilding industry - enabling builders to achieve new levels of operational efficiency, profitability and homebuyer loyalty. Winning products were selected based on criteria including revenue growth, recent client wins and feedback from Constructech homebuilding technology experts.

"In our search for the hottest technologies available to homebuilders, we identified two key categories; new products that show great potential and products that are already producing very compelling return on investment for forward-looking builders," said Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Constructech Magazine. "Pivotal is clearly in the latter category - having worked with the nation's top builders to develop a system that is now making significant improvements in the way they operate their businesses and create life-long relationships with their customers."

Recently named a TecHome Builder High-Impact Product of the Year by TecHome Builder Magazine, this latest award from Constructech Magazine further demonstrates that Pivotal Homebuilder Front Office is the CRM system of choice for leading US volume homebuilders. It is the only software system designed specifically to handle the complete sales and service cycle of America's volume homebuilders - from the first indication of interest on a corporate Website to handling a service request years after a home purchase. It is built on a flexible, enterprise-level CRM platform - enabling rapid integration and close fit with company-specific processes. It also features extensive integration to Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and a user-friendly application with workflow designed to meet the way homebuilders operate.

According to Bruce Cameron, senior vice president, North American sales, Pivotal, "Being selected among the hottest products available to homebuilders is especially rewarding because it is recognition of both our strong momentum in the homebuilding industry and the results our customers are achieving using Pivotal Homebuilder Front Office. New product innovations and strategic industry alliances such as our recent agreements with New Home Technologies and Pervasive Software have us well positioned for continued success in this exciting market."

CDC Corp unveils new online game revenue model (CHINA 2Q05 conf call quotes)

CDC Corporation (ticker: CHINA) reported Q2 2005 earnings results last week. CEO Raymond Ch'ien discussed CHINA's new online game and future guidance during management's earnings results conference call:

On CHINA's New Online Game

....China.com Inc.'s 48%-owned online game company, 17game, launched a new game called Yulgang. Since Yulgang's commercial launch in July 2005, peak concurrent users have exceeded 160,000 and there are over 6 million registered users. We expect this growth momentum to continue. Unlike traditional online game revenue models, game players of Yulgang buy virtual merchandise and services from the online game shop rather than paying for time spent on the game itself. This particular model, while having proven successful in Korea, is new to China and we are pleased to be a pioneer in this.

On General Guidance

....Our key strategic priorities and areas of focus for the rest of 2005 are our enterprise software and mobile value-added services businesses, as well as our games and advertising and marketing business, which includes the China.com portal.

....These initiatives may result in an adverse effect to the financial results for the Company in the last two quarters. However, we do foresee that these actions will positively impact our results in 2006 and beyond.

(Quotes are from the CCBN StreetEvents transcript.)

FY 2005 Guidance

Revenue of $240 - $260 million vs consensus estimate of $231.9 million.
Software revenue of $160 - $175 million.
Non software revenue of $80 - $85 million.
Gross profit of $135 - $145 million.
Gross margin of 50% - 55%.

Poorman,

Symmetrical Triangles usually resolve in the direction of the trend, which for CHINA, is bearish.

CHINA broke below a Symmetrical Triangle on August 30 on fairly heavy volume.  4.2 million shares, which is 2½ times average daily volume.  The pattern resolution was bearish.

Since the break, CHINA has been rallying back to the bottom of the broken pattern on volume under a million shares, with the exception of yesterday.  Volume was average: 1.5 million shares.  That's called a "reflex rally."  Since the breakdown, the stock has been scrambling to get back inside the pattern, almost by reflex.  "Clawing it's way back," so to speak.

CHINA now is sitting just below the bottom of the broken pattern.  Still bearish.  Neutral if it can close back inside the triangle.  If CHINA can take out the top of the Ascending Triangle, it would look alot better.

Good luck with all of your trades!

has it taken out top of ascending triangle?  now at 3.16 +0.19 on the day.  also  it could be running because its subsidiary in hk, china.com ran up 40% on the week and thinking of listing on nasdaq.

Catrader,

The bottom of the broken Symmetrical Triangle comes in today at about 3.16, so CHINA is right at resistance, trying to get back inside the triangle.  That would put me neutral on it.  MACD is below the signal line, though, and also below zero. Don't like that.  If it can get back above the signal line, that would be neutral, too, in my view.

Interesting that on the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo chart, the Kumo (cloud) is at 3.10-3.19.  The cloud is the vertical green lines.  If CHINA can close above that, it's a positive.  Personally, I don't like the chart well enough to buy it, though.

This may help the breakout scenario or may be a sell on news chance.  I don't know but I am bullish long-term.

The companies are collaborating closely on a series of co-development, co-marketing and co-selling activities.

In addition, Pivotal and Microsoft are working together to increase awareness and adoption of Microsoft .NET technologies including Microsoft SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, Office 2003, the forthcoming Microsoft Windows Vista (the next version of the Windows operating system), Visual Studio 2005, and Windows Communication Foundation, a set of .NET technologies for building and running connected systems. Additionally, Pivotal's Microsoft-based solutions will greatly enhance access to Pivotal functionality for developers using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and will increase the interoperability between Pivotal solutions and the Microsoft Office System."

According to Randy Heffner, vice president, Forrester Research, ".NET represents a big architectural change for Microsoft's customers, and it is very much to Microsoft's credit that it successfully kept and grew its customer base during the transition. That 56% of firms do most development on .NET is truly impressive. How did Microsoft do it? Forrester clients often cite Microsoft's great development tools as a reason they use .NET."

China.com Inc.'s Online Game Subsidiary Achieved 9 Million Registered Accounts and 215,000 Highest Peak Concurrent Users After Two Months of Commercialization
Wednesday September 28, 8:52 am ET

HONG KONG, Sept. 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- China.com Inc. (the "Company" or "China.com"; Hong Kong Stock Code: 8006), an 81%-owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA) today announced that the Company's 48%-owned online gaming subsidiary, Beijing 17game Network Technology Co. Ltd. ("17game"), has achieved over 9.0 million registered accounts to its game, Yulgang -- just two months following the game's commercial launch on July 15, 2005. Yulgang is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with 2.5D graphics and cartoon-style characters developed by MGame in Korea. The remaining 52% of 17game is owned by 17game's founders and employees and the Company has a right to buy these remaining shares of 17game that it does not otherwise own.

Since the game was launched commercially in mid July, it has reached its highest level of concurrent users during peak usage periods of over 215,000. 17game has pioneered the "free-to-play and pay-for-virtual-merchandise" business model for MMORPGs in China, and the company expects to see further traction in the coming quarters.

17Game continues to remain dedicated to delivering unparalleled service to Chinese gamers with fully localized content and expanded around-the-clock customer support. 17game is expanding its online and offline promotions and marketing initiatives to target additional user demographics and geographic regions.

"We are very extremely pleased with the promising results of Yulgang during the first two month of commercialization. We believe that the game has established itself as one of only two successfully launched MMORPG in China this year and is now one of the top five such games in the market today," said Rudy Chan, CEO of China.com Inc. "We are encouraged by the initial success of Yulgang, and will further invest additional resources to ensure further traction in the coming quarters."

More news... CHINA.com seeking U.S. listing as an ADR.  IMO This will dramatically increase shareholder value.  We'll see.

CDC Corporation subsidiary, China.com Inc., seeking to establish an ADR program in the United States
Thursday September 29, 7:13 am ET

HONG KONG, Sept. 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CDC Corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA; www.cdccorporation.net ) today announced that its 81% owned subsidiary, China.com Inc., currently listed in Hong Kong on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market under the ticker symbol 8006, is seeking to establish a sponsored Level 2 American Depositary Receipts ("ADR") program in the United States. The establishment of the ADR program is subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions and there is no assurance that China.com Inc. can successfully complete the establishment of the ADR program.

The company is embarking on this initiative as part of its strategic review to enable many of its US-based investors to more easily invest directly in its China-based Mobile Value Added Services ("MVAS"), Internet services and online game company, China.com Inc. Once the ADR program is in effect, it would enable CDC to provide greater flexibility with respect to its shareholdings in China.com Inc. such as distributing a stock dividend of all or a part of its China.com Inc. shares to CDC shareholders.

As of September 29, 2005, China.com Inc. had a market capitalization of US$375.5 million on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market with an average daily volume of approximately 38 million shares for the past 10 trading days. This is based on an exchange rate of US$1 to HK$7.76 and total outstanding shares of approximately 4.16 billion. As of the end of Q2 2005, the company projected that its 2005 aggregate revenues will be US$240 million to US$260 million of which approximately 15%-20% was anticipated to be derived from China.com Inc with the balance from its CDC Software unit. While the company is subjected to various Non-GAAP adjustments most of which relates to its purchase of subsidiaries, the China.com Inc. and CDC Software units have been operating profitable for 2005 and China.com Inc. is on its 21st consecutive quarter of profitability. The Non-GAAP cash and cash equivalents net of total debt as at Q2 2005 was approximately US$221 million of which approximately one half was within China.com Inc.

"The introduction of a China.com Inc. ADR program would provide greater flexibility to our investors by creating a US dollar investment vehicle that we feel would help to put China.com Inc. on a level footing with many of its US-listed peer companies. This is a key step in our strategic review as we believe an ADR program would measurably improve the ability of our China.com Inc. subsidiary to access a greater range of global investors and further broaden its shareholder base as well as provide greater value to CDC shareholders," said Steven Chan, Acting CEO of CDC Corporation.

The trend of this CDC looks very promising. I am not sure how long can it sustain. Probably it's strength will be its quarter earnings.

CHINA (CDC) breakout and it surpasses the 3.5 barrier. It's online gaming brings back its revenue into a far most outstanding pride. Could this be a bull trap or its already on its way up??? ???

It's earnings would be out before the Thanksgiving day. Anybody has a clearer Techinical Analysis that could define that it is the time for CHINA (CDC) to go up?

Its MACD seems to be very promising...
