I agree, bjc. I would never put much into it without first seeing audited financials, but I would gamble just a bit if it falls around $4.60.

Is it free-falling because the market knows something or is it just fear of the unknown?

bjc

That's the question...

I suppose that's the question a lot of the time.  My strategy lately has been buying high quality companies on big time correcetions.  I used to ignore fundamentals, but it's pretty much all I use now.

I like to use TA when picking buy targets and such.  Support/resistance, emas, adx, macd I think are all very useful, but I only use TA in addition to fundamental analysis.  I refuse to buy based solely on a chart now.  I think weekly MACD is incredibly useful.  Once I see it start to curve in for a bullish cross on a stock that's been in the dumps, that's my buy time.  I also like to have seen the 20 ema broken to the upside.

Maybe you're on to something here and you've found a quality company trading at a significant discount.  I'm sure there will be some kind of buzz at some point because of the olympics that could fuel the share price...

I know your fundamental strategy, bjc. That's one reason I seek out and highly respect your posts while ignoring many others.

The T\A side is where I have alot to learn. I think your strategy is abosutely the best- Fundamentals first with T\A secondary.

I think you were probably right the first time-JADE should be avoided unless just gambling/guessing. Can't say whether they are a quality company without the financials.

Thanks for your responses bjc and applaud.

The Rosen Law Firm Files Securities Class Action Charging LJ International, Inc. With Securities Fraud and Seeks to Recover Investors' Losses -- JADE
Friday September 28, 6:00 pm ET

NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 28, 2007 -- The Rosen Law Firm (http://www.rosenlegal.com) announced today it has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of purchasers of LJ International, Inc. ("LJI") (NasdaqGM:JADE - News) common stock during the period from February 15, 2007 through September 6, 2007, inclusive (the "Class Period").
To join the LJI securities litigation as a plaintiff or for further information, please call Laurence Rosen, Esq. or Phillip Kim, Esq. toll-free at 866-767-3653 or email [email protected] or [email protected].

You can join the class action online at http://www.rosenlegal.com.

The complaint charges LJI and certain of its officers and directors with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 for allegedly issuing false and misleading statements about its business prospects, financial condition, and its statements of revenues and net income. In particular, the Complaint asserts that throughout the Class Period, the Company issued false and misleading reports overstating the Company's fiscal 2005 and 2006 financial results.

On July 16, 2007, LJI announced that it was delaying the release of its fourth quarter 2006 through second quarter 2007 financial results because the Company's new auditors were unable to sign off on the Company's financial statements. On September 6, 2007, LJI revealed that it had failed to achieve the projected fourth quarter and fiscal 2006 financial results LJI had previously issued on January 8, 2007 -- and later upgraded on February 15, 2007 -- due to a potential tax provision, and that its fiscal 2006 earnings report of $3 million would "likely be adversely impacted." As a result of these and other adverse disclosures, the Company's stock price fell dramatically and caused investors losses.

A class action lawsuit has already been filed on behalf of LJI shareholders. If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than November 19, 2007. If you wish to join the litigation or to discuss your rights or interests regarding this class action, please contact plaintiff's counsel, Laurence Rosen, Esq. or Phillip Kim Esq. of The Rosen Law Firm toll free at 866-767-3653 or via e-mail at [email protected] or [email protected] . No class has yet been certified in the above action. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one. You may also remain an absent class member.

The Rosen Law Firm http://www.rosenlegal.com has expertise in prosecuting investor securities litigation and extensive experience in actions involving financial fraud. The Rosen Law Firm represents investors throughout the nation, concentrating its practice in securities class actions.

("LJ" or the "Company") (NasdaqGM:JADE - News) between February 15, 2007 and September 6, 2007, inclusive (the "Class Period").

The complaint alleges that during the Class Period the Company, and certain of its officers and directors, violated federal securities laws by issuing various materially false and misleading statements that had the effect of artificially inflating the market price of the Company's securities and causing Class members to overpay for the securities.

The market sell-off was uncomfortable...but not totally expected after such a run up.  The so-called "experts" are saying the market sold off after an analyst Lowered price target for BIDU.  Well that to me doesn't justify a market sell-off.  Maybe it was a reason for people to lock in profits. :-\

I personally don't like big red candles after putting in a  new high.  But I think the markets will continue a bull-run.  But there will be down days in the near future no doubt.

Look at last Jan Thur Feb price action.
I'm inclined to believe this stock will do the same thing here.

LJ International Announces First Half Fiscal 2007 Financial Results
Friday December 28, 4:40 pm ET

HONG KONG & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LJ International Inc. (LJI) (Nasdaq/GM:JADE), a leading jewelry manufacturer and retailer, today announced financial results for the Company's first six months ended June 30, 2007.

Revenues for the first six months ended June 30, 2007 totaled $67.16 million, up 34% from $50.10 million in the first six months of 2006. Net income for the first six months ended June 30, 2007 was $1.83 million, or $0.08 per fully diluted share, up 60% on a per-share basis from $0.95 million, or $0.05 per fully diluted share, in the first six months of 2006. The majority of the rise in revenues for the first half of 2007 was primarily due to the growth of LJI's ENZO retail division, which currently has 93 retail stores in operation across Greater China.

LJI's overall gross profit in the first six months of 2007 rose to $19.32 million, or 29% of revenues, from $13.10 million, or 26% of revenues, in 2006 primarily as a result of the Company's higher-margin ENZO revenue mix.

Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses for the first six months of 2007 totaled $15.06 million, up from $10.90 million in the first six months of 2006. The increase was due to increased advertising, rental, staffing and other costs stemming from ENZO's increased store count as well as higher corporate-level expenses, including legal and professional advisory services.

To be added to LJI's investor lists, please contact Haris Tajyar at [email protected] or at 818-382-9702.
