Meanwhile, China has become the world's largest consumer of copper due to its own infrastructure needs and its role as an exporter of products like air conditioners and auto-motor parts. Last year, the country used 4 million metric tons of copper, or about 22% of the world's supply. That's up from 10% a decade ago, according to industry estimates. See more on China and copper.
"This is an important step in our strategic growth outside China," said Yaqing Xiao, Chinalco president, in a statement released by Peru Copper.
"We look forward to identifying investment opportunities in Peru and around the world," he said.

Jorgegr,
I just got stopped out at $41.05, I guess I had a very aggressive stop, I just wanted to protect my 20% gain in 17 days.  I just got back into the stock a few minutes ago, and wanted to know what to expect from this stock since you have been in and out of this stock for a while.  Thanks in advance.

jorgegr
