CEO Comments on Innergy
Power Acquisition
ECOtality, Inc. (ETLY) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire
Innergy Power Corporation of San Diego, CA for 3,000,000 shares of
ETLY common stock . Innergy Power provides design and manufacture
of thin sealed rechargeable lead batteries and flat-panel multicrystalline
solar modules. It is the only North American manufacturer
of both renewable energy solar modules and rechargeable batteries.
ECOtality expects the acquisition to close in October 2007.
Innergy Power's assets also include a manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico. This facility will also provide
additional manufacturing capabilities for fuel cell products for ECOtality's Fuel Cell Store that it acquired in
June 2007.
Jonathan Read, CEO of ECOtality, told Knobias on Thursday, "The solar photovoltaic modules are used in
logistics tracking, asset management systems, off-grid lighting, mobile communications, mobile computing,
recreational vehicles, signaling devices, and surveillance cameras. In addition, Innergy provides Power
Plant auxiliary batteries for portable devices, such as notebook PCs, PDAs, GPS transceivers, portable
DVD players, handheld video players, and portable CD players."
ECOtality develops and commercializes renewable energy technologies and practical clean technologies
and related applications. Through partnerships and acquisitions, ECOtality obtains the rights to the technologies
in exchange for providing financial, technical and business guidance to ensure the technologies
are appropriately and timely developed. The Company also assists with the roll-out of technologies to speed
market acceptability.
Mr. Read explained, "There are many alternative renewable energies that are currently in development, and
there's no magic bullet to solve all our energy needs. However, we believe that there are certain renewable
energies that are more commercially viable than others. Electricity has proven to be safe, efficient and effective
and unlike some of the other renewable technologies, the infrastructure already exists. In order to
decrease on dependence on fossil fuels to create electricity, we need to develop and deliver clean technologies
that allow for the conversion of renewable energy sources to electricity. While many of these renewable
energies such as solar, water and wind power can generate "clean" electricity, we need to find methods to
store and deliver the power to users. In addition to this, we also need to look at how we can be more effective
in our use of electricity, and in this area, technologies that will allow for energy efficiency are crucial."
"Currently, the clean technology industry is fragmented and many companies are developing new technologies
and products. While they might be promising, the a gap between technology development and commercialization
exists. Also, as with new technologies, the price points might be too high for mass market
adoption. In order for us to begin cutting our reliance on oil and fossil fuels, we need to speed the commercialization
and market acceptability of these new technologies. At ECOtality, we are committed to commercializing
cost-effective, clean technologies through a balance of product development, partnerships and
acquisitions in order to allow for the conversion of renewable energy sources to electricity."
"ECOtality's Hydrality, in development with NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs, produces hydrogen on-demand
using magnesium and water in a system that emits no exhaust other than pure water. The Hydrality, which
works in conjunction with proven fuel cell technologies, offers a solution to the current disadvantages of
compressed or liquefied hydrogen and allows for superior storage and generation of hydrogen. While the
technology was originally designed for transportation applications, additional applications have been identified
for stationary use. They include remote power, back-up power systems, and large scale industrial and
utility use. The Hydrality technology is in late-stage development testing, with a initial prototype set for mid-
2008."
"Our Fuel Cell Store develops, manufacturers, and retails a diverse and comprehensive range of fuel cell
products including fuel cell stacks, systems, component parts and educational materials. With international
operations in Japan, Russia, Italy, and Portugal, the Fuel Cell Store was the first retailer of fuel cells (founded
in 1999) and has processed more than 10,000 sales. The acquisition expands ECOtality's operations into
the fuel cell industry and establishes direct relationships with top international research institutes, universities,
government agencies and leading manufacturers in the hydrogen and fuel cell industries. It is also the
flagship of ECOtality's retail arm, ECOtality Stores, Inc., and serves as a platform for future retail of renewable
energy products, including the Hydrality system."
As of June 30, 2007, the Company had an accumulated deficit of $20.5 million and $3.3 million in cash,
certificates of deposit and accounts receivable.
Beacon Research recently initiated coverage of ETLY at Speculative Buy with a price target of $2.70, suggesting
considerable appreciation potential from the current $0.52 price.
Mr. Read concluded, "We will continue to look into investing in energy efficiency technologies that are
synergistic with our current technologies. The companies that we have acquired and plan to acquire are all
cash-flow positive companies. As such, we will be profitable in 2008."
"Success loves to hide behind challenges.
Embrace the challenge, enjoy the journey."

ECOtality Expands Nissan Partnership to Launch Electric Vehicles in Arizona's Maricopa County
ECOtality to Work with Nissan & Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to Establish the Phoenix Region as
Thursday April 16, 2009, 8:00 am EDT

Related:Ecotality, Inc.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ECOtality, Inc. (OTCBB: ETLY - News), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies, today announced it has entered into a commitment with Nissan North America and Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to facilitate the establishment of electric vehicle (EV) charge infrastructure throughout Arizona's Maricopa County. In conjunction with the anticipated 2010 launch of Nissan's zero-emission electric vehicle, ECOtality will initiate its EV Micro-Climate program in the Phoenix region to promote sensible policies, intelligent deployment of charge infrastructure, and strong public awareness to foster the successful consumer adoption of grid-connected electric vehicles. With a similar partnership previously announced in Pima County, ECOtality plans to link the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas by implementing strategic fast-charge stations along Interstate 10 (I-10) to create the first true implementation of an EV Corridor in North America.

"By establishing the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas as EV Micro-Climates, Arizona is providing a blueprint for how to intelligently build a statewide EV infrastructure: Make major population areas an EV Micro-Climate and connect them with EV Corridors enabled by fast-charging," said Jonathan Read, president and CEO, ECOtality. "ECOtality's proven EV infrastructure experience, our strong familiarity with the transportation and political environment of Arizona, as well as our industry-leading fast-charge technology, exceptionally positions ECOtality to facilitate the roll-out of EV infrastructure throughout Arizona. We look forward to working closely with the appropriate organizations in Arizona to ensure the implementation of charging infrastructure is done as efficiently and intelligently as possible."

ECOtality, Nissan and MAG have committed to form EV Micro-Climate Working Groups that will unite strategic organizations in Maricopa County to streamline the roll-out of charge infrastructure to support the public launch of grid-connected vehicles. In conjunction with these efforts, Nissan has committed to make available a supply of electric vehicles to the Region's public and private fleets in 2010, the year Nissan's electric vehicle will be ready for the commercial market.

"Nissan through the Renault-Nissan Alliance has committed to being a global leader in zero-emission vehicles," said Dominique Thormann, senior vice president, administration and finance, Nissan North America. "Nissan, the Maricopa Association of Governments, and ECOtality share in the belief that the introduction and expansion of electric vehicles is one of the best solutions to reducing CO2 emissions. This partnership is an important step in making zero emissions a reality in Arizona."

While the implementation of public charge infrastructure is planned to support the initial launch of Nissan's zero-emission vehicle, public and commercial charging stations in the Maricopa region will meet all EV charging system standards (including the SAE J1772 Electric Vehicle Conductive Charge Coupler Specifications) and will be universally compatible with the new grid-connected vehicles of other major automakers.

"This partnership with Nissan and ECOtality enables us to consider strategic initiatives to support the introduction of electric vehicles in our region and to encourage individuals to incorporate green technology into their lives," said MAG Chair Peggy Neely, a Phoenix councilwoman. "Our goal is to work to develop regional policies that improve the quality of life in our region."
