Out DNDN on paper at 8.46 when I saw the 5 minute chart pierce the upper descending trendline with low volume. The 1 minute chart showed low volume piercing the upper band of the bollinger band.
Conditions may change later on but I'm out for now.
The I should have part was: I should have placed an offer at my resistance line at 8.55(premarket high).

I really like the look of this chart.  DNDN has a nice little "V" pattern settng up after that gap up last week.

If it can break $9 soon...DNDN could rocket. ;D ;D

I just got out. Market does not seem to like this company, which was obvious from the comments yesterday from the cancer conference. that does not mean it will not go up.i just don't feel comfortable any more.

Ares

On paper, I got back in at 8.65 because the 15 minute chart bounced off the 8.55(resistance) that should be support now.
Waited for the 1 minute stochastics to be near the oversold.
When level 2 showed green, i got in.

Too bad I was not sitting on the computer when it broke 8.55 the first time.

Stop would just be below 8.64

Good luck to those who are holding overnight. On paper I'm out at 8.77 because the ax was not moving from the ask and it's close to 4pm.

I'm pretty sure Provenge will be approved.  The question is just how soon???  I ran into the same situation with ELN a couple years ago when their MS drug was taken off the market because of safety concerns.  Analysists were ripping ELN to shreads for a while...but the scientific community convincing data showed that ELN's drug wasn't the "sole" cause of the rare deaths.  It was the combination of drugs.  The scientific community was right and the drug came back to market.

DNDN's provenge has very little side affects and was overwhelminly approved by the FDA panel.  It was unprecedented that the FDA wanted more data on it's effectiveness....but sometimes politics, hedgefunds and big drug lobbyist have the upper hand on the FDA >:(

News lately and protests from cancer patients about the FDA decision to delay approval should pressure FDA approval...if not I will be forever convinced the FDA is extremely corrupt.

The Food and Drug Administration is often criticized for being too lax, for approving drugs that turn out to be dangerous and must be pulled from the market.

Now the government agency is under intense criticism for being too rigid for requesting more clinical data before it will approve Provenge, which some believe is a revolutionary new treatment for advanced prostate cancer.

"There are so many men around this country that are livid. They're angry that this drug has not been approved," prostate cancer patient Steve Fleishman told ABC's John McKenzie.

This unique treatment is custom-made for each patient. It refocuses the body's immune system to fight prostate cancer.

"It turns your own T-cells -- part of your immune system -- against your own cancer cells. It's targeted and individualized. This has not been done before," said clinical investigator Dr. Roy Berger.

The drug brought hope to Jim Lanpher, 60, as his medications no longer worked and he is dying of prostate cancer. He was looking forward to trying this cutting-edge treatment, but then heard the FDA had delayed approval of the drug in May.

He said his initial reaction was, "Oh, please, no."

"I thought I had something almost within my grasp," Lanpher said. "I was looking forward to it."

Statistical Fluke?

In early clinical trials, men with advanced prostate cancer who took Provenge lived 4½ months longer, but that was the average. Some men gained an extra two or three years of life after the treatment, and the only side effects were mild flulike symptoms.

The data so impressed an FDA advisory panel in March that it recommended in a 13-4 vote that Provenge be approved.

But the FDA is not convinced. The organization decided in May it would not approve the drug until more clinical data was available.

Agency officials declined to be interviewed, but some doctors have complained that the initial studies do not show the treatment actually slows the growth of tumors and that any survival benefit in those small studies might be a statistical fluke.

While the FDA now orders more testing, desperate cancer patients will have to wait another year, at least, before they might get this treatment.

Got some DNDN now at 11
Ouch, had to get out at 10.20  >:(

On May 31, I noticed DNDN on the NASDAQ premarket most active.
I decided to paper trade it.
Got in at 9.40 in the first few minutes the market opened.
Saw it shoot up to $13.
I wanted to sell close to 13 when it stalled but greed crept in.
I ended up selling at $12.
Too bad it's just on paper.

I'm currently following DNDN's activity and trying to study its behaviour.
Hopefully, when its time for me to put in real money, it will work the same as in my paper trade.
Still really working on that emotion obstacle. ::)

Happy trading to all. :)

Would have been stopped out on that previous trade.

This is a challenging stock.

Today, the funny part is I wrote down 8.05 and 7.90 as my support and the low today was 8.05.
My resistance was 8.64,8.88, and 8.99. Today's high is 8.68.

Pretty close but it may just be a fluke.
Whoever is playing around with this must have a basis or gauge in making their decisions.

Anyway, I'm still paper trading this.

Looking forward to your comments on the chart.

DNDN is probably not the stock you want to trade in and out of right now. I probably got in too early...not realizing why it was rising a few days ago.  It started going up because of media coverage and protestors in Washington D.C.   In the end this may pressure the FDA to expidite the approval.  As we know, the FDA approval can be a political and drawn out process.

It appears that DNDN is in a tight trading range.  I would like to see it hold the 9ema...but I'm prepared for it drop to 7.55.  Still lots of volume on the stock which I like to see.

Once DNDN goes above $9...I believe we'll have fireworks. ;)

Hi kslifka,

I forgot to attach the chart I was referring to.

Also I want to give you an overdue applaud on AMRN.
You warned me but I was stubborn.
I should have waited for more signals before holding on.
I should have just exited out on the day we entered (would have made money on that already).
I recently read Livelife's comment on panic selling.
http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=1639.msg98146#msg98146

The difference is, he waited for more confirmation.
The I should haves...

Anyway, that's what happens to me when real money is involved.
I do better on paper where emotions are not a big thing and logic is maximized.
I just have to make that logic transfer over from paper to the real thing.

Happy trading.

Please don't get tired of keeping me in check.

I'd like to see increasing black volume as the price goes up.
Especially, when breaking the red downtrend channel.
