I must say, yuki had me going there a little bit when he was a member of the board. but I said to my self there is no way I am going to be paying a membership to the service David provides with such a proven record. I held on and although I was down all the way to 25% at one point I kept reading religiously and now David you have more than proven your self.
Muchisimas gracias David, now I'll be able to afford the diapers and formula for my new baby that should be here in another 6 to 8 weeks.
;D

now if PFSW does the same thing CIMT is doing I'll be really happy.  ;) ;D

Congrats on your baby pinoleropuro :)

But don't be so fast in saying "you've proven yourself David", because CIMT still didn't report Q3 earnings and they can disappoint (even though I don't think they will). Moreover you shouldn't judge my work based on one or two stock recommendations, but on the overall portfolio performance. But thanks :)

QuoteManagement is playing the China card again with today's press release, that is what got us to $4.73 the last time.  But now it may be even stronger because Chinese stocks are on fire more than usual recently.

Hi Tokyo, the problem is investors felt betrayed the last time, because even though the company's business in China is growing a lot, it is coming from a very small base, so it doesn't have much impact in the company's total revenues and profits.

I don't think the "China" word will be enough to take CIMT towards filling the gap at $3.54. Only strong Q3 numbers can do that, in my opinion. And I'm expecting that ... Q3 EPS of $0.07.

QuoteCimatron was up almost 15% on Monday (and over 125% on the year) off of the strength of its conference call, that was held in China.

I thought it'd be useful to highlight some points from the conference call that got the market so excited:

  # Microsystem had $10.5M in revenue in 2006 and poised to continue to grow profitably. Looks like earnings will become accretive in Q32007.
  # Launch of Cimatron 8.0 appears to be really interesting for the company, as it positions them in a new market, the die design market. The company expects organic growth from this new target market in the quarters ahead.
  # In terms of geographical sales, CIMT sells 57% in Europe, 23% in the Asia Pacific, 12% in North America and 8% in the rest of the world.
  # The company said that they are focused on increasing shareholder value. Look for some more M&A in the future.

I think this is erroneous information La-onda, these highlights are from the 2nd quarter earnings conference call, there isn't any webcast or replay of the conference in China available to the public. Please confirm this if you can. Thanks :)

I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

David Randolph

CIMT is one of the very few companies which never diluted shareholder's value. The share count stands at 8 million since the company's IPO back in March 1996.

And there will be growth, eventually.

I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

pinoleropuro

someone posted a link to Yukii's portfolio at the yahoo boards. it shows that yukii picked CIMT on July 4th at 1.95 share and he is up 38.46% from that price. if that is the case I don't get why yukii keeps bashing it on the yahoo board or is it yukii the basher?
hmm.
oh well here is the link.

Perhaps yukiii is the basher, that would explain a lot :)

CIMT is below where it was when the "China conference" news hit the wires, and this is a natural behavior, investors won't buy CIMT in a sustainable basis just because of "China", they want to see real revenue growth and nice EPS before jumping into this micro cap.

And that's what they'll get when the company reports 3rd quarter earnings, in my opinion.

We never left the "patience island", I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

David Randolph

CIMT remains in the patience island, but we need to always keep in mind that this is a microscopic cap company, just $21 M. It isn't difficult for it to double in one single day if the right news hits the wires.

In Q3 2007 I'm expecting 7 cents EPS and 10 cents in Q4. With this type of earnings news CIMT will surely trade north of $6.

Even if we don't get these results right now I believe CIMT is to be held for the long term, because it is a profitable software company which never diluted shareholders' value and management is committed to growth. The company also has a strong balance sheet (considering its size).

I'll continue holding CIMT for the long term.

tokyopua

Well, its not that price doubling kind of news you were talking about, but coincidentally some news did just hit the wires.  Looks like CIMT management is in PR mode a bit before earnings release, thats nice to see.

Cimatron's CAD/CAM solutions address the entire mold making process-from quoting to design, engineering changes, NC and EDM programming. A recent independent study by the Aberdeen Group confirms that Cimatron customers are able to provide significantly faster delivery times than those offered by the rest of the industry. "Cimatron continues to focus on the requirements of tool makers and manufacturers," said Danny Haran, Cimatron's CEO and President. "Our biggest reward is seeing our customers perform at the top of their industry."

Mold makers around the world have been quick to realize the benefits of using Cimatron's integrated solutions: "We can now construct the mold and complete the mold assembly 30% faster than before," said a senior mold designer at Junker & Halverscheid (Germany). "Cimatron speaks the language of mold builders," added Rudiger Gossling, in charge of mold engineering at Junker & Halverscheid.

"We are excited for the opportunity to meet the industry's forward-thinkers at the Euromold event," said Dirk Dombert, General Manager of Cimatron GmbH. "With growing pressures to step-up product quality and shorten delivery times, mold makers need solutions that have the functionality to meet their specific needs."

- A flexible hybrid environment that allows design in both 2D and 3D, using surface or solid operations to best match the needs of each task at hand.

- The ideal mix of automation and user control-saving time with high level of automation while empowering the experienced user to be in command of the process.

- A complete range of NC technologies to get any job done-from simple 2.5-axis milling and drilling to complex 5-axis machining and micro milling.

QuoteWell, its not that price doubling kind of news you were talking about, but coincidentally some news did just hit the wires.  Looks like CIMT management is in PR mode a bit before earnings release, thats nice to see.

Yep Tokyopua, thanks for posting the press release.

As you expected, it had no impact in the share price, just 500 shares changing hands yesterday.

But there are a few positive indications:

«A recent independent study by the Aberdeen Group confirms that Cimatron customers are able to provide significantly faster delivery times than those offered by the rest of the industry. "Cimatron continues to focus on the requirements of tool makers and manufacturers," said Danny Haran, Cimatron's CEO and President. "Our biggest reward is seeing our customers perform at the top of their industry."»

If indeed Cimatron is the best in its industry, it will surely grow over the long term. And the CAD/CAM software industry is a multi-billion dollar industry (I don't know how many billions, but a couple of months ago we've seen that case of a $3 B plus company in this sector being acquired by a private equity group).

I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

David Randolph

Next Wednesday we'll know the 3rd quarter results and the Microsystem's impact on revenue and EPS, which I expect to be positive.

Nothing else to do now but keep waiting for the numbers and hold the stock.

David Randolph

Nice 15.5% run up on Friday, but we know we'll need strong 3rd quarter earnings for CIMT to move sharply higher and more importantly, sustain that higher level. I believe that if we get the $0.07 EPS I'm expecting investors will push CIMT above $5 and hold it there, because the 4th quarter will be even better than the 3rd.

I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

David Randolph

QuoteNice 15.5% run up on Friday, but we know we'll need strong 3rd quarter earnings for CIMT to move sharply higher and more importantly, sustain that higher level.

Indeed, no earnings, no sustainability, CIMT was down 11.8% yesterday. Results will be released tomorrow after the close and of course I'll hold through them.

Anyway, it is possible that even with very good news CIMT doesn't go up as much as it should, because the general market mood is bearish (the mood, not the long term trend). When I see SILC, for example, trading at 12 times earnings ... but I expect optimism to flourish over the next few months.

I'll keep holding CIMT for the long term.

Cimatron Reports Record Revenues and Improved Profits in the Third Quarter of 2007
Wednesday November 14, 4:00 pm ET
Higher Revenues and Profits are Attributed Both to Organic Growth and to the Microsystem Acquisition
$0.06 EPS in Q3 2007, $0.12 EPS in Q1-Q3 2007

GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel, November 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cimatron Limited (Nasdaq: CIMT - News), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for the tool making and manufacturing industries, today announced record revenues and an increase in profits for the third quarter of 2007.

Both increased revenues and profit are attributed to organic growth, as well as to the acquisition of a majority stake in Microsystem. This is the first quarter in which Microsystem's results are consolidated into Cimatron's financial statements.

Most of the organic revenue growth came from new software license sales. However, growth was also registered in maintenance and service revenues.

Financial Highlights:

Revenues for the third quarter of 2007 increased by 58% to $7.9 million compared to $5.0 million in the third quarter of 2006. In the first nine months of 2007, revenue increased by 22% to $18.8 million compared to $15.4 million in the same period in 2006.

Gross profit for the third quarter of 2007 was $6.38 million, as compared to $4.18 million in the same period in 2006, a 53% increase. Gross margin in the third quarter was 81% of revenues, compared to 83% of revenues in the third quarter of 2006. In the first nine months of 2007, gross profit increased 22% to $15.55 million compared to $12.73 million in the first nine months of 2006. Gross margin for the nine months ended on September 30th, 2007 was 83% of revenues as compared to 82% of revenues in the same period of 2006. As expected, the consolidation of Microsystem resulted in a slight decrease to Cimatron's gross margin, due to Microsystem's third-party hardware sales.

Operating profit in the third quarter of 2007 was $450 thousand, compared to an operating loss of $(403) thousand in the third quarter of 2006. In the first nine months of 2007, operating profit increased to $845 thousand, compared to an operating loss of $(317) thousand in the first nine months of 2006.

Net profit for the third quarter of 2007 was $486 thousand, or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $(281) thousand, or $(0.04) per diluted share in the same quarter of 2006. In the first nine months of 2007, net profit increased to $958 thousand, or $0.12 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $(43) thousand, or $(0.01) per diluted share, in the first nine months of 2006.

"We are very pleased with our continued revenue and profit growth, marked by significant growth in software license sales," said Danny Haran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cimatron. "The figures for the third quarter reflect the continuous positive acceptance of our latest version of Cimatron E, as well as the contribution of Microsystem's results to both the top and bottom lines."

"The global execution of our business strategy and the successful acquisition of a majority stake in Microsystem have resulted in strong third quarter financial results," said Rimon Ben-Shaoul, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cimatron. We are pleased to see improvement in all important parameters, even before consolidating Microsystem's results. As previously disclosed, Cimatron will continue to consider M&A opportunities, as part of its strategy to further increase its product offering and global presence," Mr. Ben-Shaoul concluded.

Cimatron has previously disclosed that following the exercise of its option to increase its holdings in MicroSystem to 51% in July 2007, it will fully consolidate the results of Microsystem, subject to the exclusion of a 49% minority interest. However, upon further review, the Company has decided to consolidate 100% of Microsystems' results as of the third quarter of 2007, with no exclusion of minority interest, due to the 49% minority shares in Microsystem having become subject to a put and call option in favor of Microsystems shareholders and Cimatron, respectively, upon the acquisition of 51% of Microsystems. To reflect the foregoing, in Q3 2007 Cimatron booked in its balance sheet an additional investment of $1.25M and a liability to pay to the remaining Microsystem shareholders the same amount which they are expected to receive in July 2008, as per the call/put options.

• Cimatron Reports Record Revenues and Improved Profits in the Third Quarter of 2007
PR Newswire (Wed 4:00pm)

Solid results from CIMT. I was hopping for 7 cents EPS but 6 cents is also pretty good ... even more so because the 3rd quarter is seasonally weak. I still have to listen to the conference call, but everything seems on track for CIMT achieving the super $0.10 EPS in Q4, which in my opinion should mean at least $6 a share (I'm being conservative on the multiple here).

If CIMT were to trade at the Technical & Software industry average earnings multiple of 35, it should trade at $0.06*4 quarters = $0.24*35 = $8.4, given today's quarterly results, but it seems micro caps have been out of favor lately ... but I say that at least an earnings multiple of 15 is warranted, and that means $3.60 on close tomorrow.

I'll write some more comments tomorrow before the open, got my kids screaming here ;D
