IPIX wins $2.4M contract, shares up .


NEW YORK, July 1 (Reuters) - Shares in Internet video technology company IPIX Corp. (IPIX,Trade) surged in premarket trading on Friday after the company won a $2.4 million Pentagon contract to develop the world's highest resolution video camera.

The Vienna, Virginia-based company said late on Thursday that the research contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, known as DARPA, was for IPIX to research and build the camera to be used in aerial surveillance.

IPIX shares were up 12 percent in premarket trading on the Inet electronic brokerage system.

IPIX shares have been volatile, briefly hitting $27 last year after the company said a highway video surveillance system had successfully completed tests. The shares on Thursday closed at $2.48.

With the "incidents" this morning in London, I expect a renewed interest in video security.
IPIX has been making a bottom.  Is this the time to break out?   Another run toward four is in the works.

If not, I still think it moves higher.

ipix lookin good trader412, it looks like its in stage 2 g-pattern lets see if it can add some volume and burst through. 

I wonder what kind of speculating could make it run higher than this Monday's leve, more order , more contract coming? Unless there is news, I can not find any reason for that.

Lebed (lebed.com) posted IPIX as one of his stocks to watch. He indicated over the weekend that volume has been increasing and and it could be ready to breakout. I guess some people got the word early.

why is IPIX up?
there doesn't seem to be any news except 1 guy joining the board.
that doesn't appear to me to be enough news for the rise.

Earning report came out today around 3:37 pm and IPIX rocketed ...well kinda wrong direction. It went down $0.22 and another $0.14 in after hour. Is it buy the rumor and sell the news? will it go down to close the gap around mid 3 area ? Is it a good buy opportunity ? I like the company, and they're in hot sector right now. Any thought on this one guy? any input will be appreciated.
