Just a suggestion: we need to have some entertainment when stocks are down and market is deep red.

How about voting out some 'hot or not' stuff right here on 3SF. Hope saffey will provide some of the blonde pics.

I logged on and signed up.  Next thing you know.  I am rich, off the booze and have a hot blond with big balloons.  I am living like Henry VIII.

LOL - I hope you will have more luck in your lovelife than Henry the VIII  :o

I understand those expressing concern about the subscription but if that is what it takes to keep this site alive you can count me in. David's picks and experience is certainly worth more than the monthly fee.

But this site has become much more than even David and Fred might have envisioned when they started the site.

I really enjoy the high quality debat with input from great minds as well as small time traders. For this place to stay a lively site it is important that the free boards continue to be a place with high quality discussions and I think we all have an obligation to contribute to the free boards. After all that was where we all started.

If it wasn't for Dave and Ramsburg I would have no life about now.  3SOF saved my life.  I was at bottom hitting the bottle everyday and with only $100 left in my pocket.  I somehow stumbled onto this site when I was originally surfing the web for free porn.  I think i put in a search Three sluts on Fire.  And then this site popped up.  I logged on and signed up.  Next thing you know.  I am rich, off the booze and have a hot blond with big balloons.  I am living like Henry VIII.

I think that $50.  is fair for getting the %gains that have been made on the stock picks here.  How much did you spend on that college economics course? And how many times does that come into use in your life today?  I think the cost of the books alone were more than the price of membership on this site.  If you're serious about trading, than it's worth the investment.

-Saffey.

saffey is my hero, LOL (applaud)...so I must get some booze..check

Saffeys steps to riches:
1.drink..find the bottom of every bottle
2.search for porn while drunk
3.trade like you are on fire

..thats gotta be the best endorsement I've ever read  :D :D :D

Hi David, Ramsburg and the remaining founder team

After some initial reactions, some comments and some fun I like to summarize the different thoughts which I got while browsing through the various comments.

In respect to your idea and your effort to start this site (homepage), many of us like (aussie, stocky, cumulina, elite, JB, tommy, saffey, la-onda, Michael, setravis... oh please forgive me if I missed you out here) may feel also as first hour pioneers (irrespective if fulltime trader or part time like me who has a real job to do beside) who has given this site the initial boost.
However David & Co., we fully respect you as our scouts commanders.  8)

I think now, even through this experiment goes commercial, many of the pioneers have still the spirit to take it to a further success.  It may be even a precondition to stay successful. I agree to aussie that a subscription is sooner or later inevitable to maintain the quality standard. But not to forget, many members who invested time and own efforts to created this environment now continuing with their ideas and voluntary researches and even paying for this!!!

There is nothing wrong with this, as long everyone is happy, but I believe (if I would be David or Ramsburg) that transforms into a extra ordinary responsibility of the owners.

There will come a time where people will join with other preferences. They will be definitely different as we pioneers, and you should be prepared for this.

In fact proper policies have to be set.  Don't understand me wrong, I don't wont to dictate them. But why not using things which have been proven sound at other places.
Please have a try and look at the a homepage www.shortpicks.com. There service is also not for free, but there are committing to a very customer friendly policy, which impressed me.
I would feel the openness and willingness to contribute of the participants here at 3SF, the professional moderation with technical know how by David, Ramsburg and others and a clean policy similar there of the page mentioned above would make this to a groundbreaking venture. I believe that this is that what the customers really want and definitely will appreciate.

But what means that exact. I have a couple of observations.

  • On the beginning you may encountered some problems with your server. We know this and we remained patient. Also I feel the service feels a little slow. If people are paying, they will expect a little boost.
  • Advertising is there a certain factor. For a free of charge service and startup all this advertising is necessary, we understand. The baby need some feed to grow.
But as you see, the above mentioned page comes without any flickering banners, which will be loaded before the content and... That's makes customers feeling better. Consider, during trading session we will be full concentrated and (at least with me) flickering banners and ads making some people extremely nervous.
  • Furthermore you proposed mailing and messaging. And there will be the point where people will take it serious.
I hope you noticed it already, the problems with the mailing at the beginning are related to the advertising at the 3SF page – not with the content of 3SF itself. This advertising brought 3SF on the spam-list and now 3SF is unfortunately labeled as a spam-spitter. Please look in to the following. (pls search via google)  :o

Spam domain blacklist: "3" (filtered by jwSpamSpy)
    Domain blacklist update (DBL-Update) 2005-05-19

Mailing services relying on this black lists and mailing will get unreliable.
I don't know what your income from advertising is, but the extra income through subscription if people are really happy may offset the loss of the missing adds.

  • And also the fact of limiting members as already outlined by some member. Pennys will become rockets if suddenly 200+ are bying. It will be almost programmed that half of them will end in loss, because if 200+ are selling a penny than a nosedive bomber will be nothing against that.

There are some points more but I will limit the post for now.

Fact is that we as pioneers tolerate a lot, but payers will compare you (us) with professional services. And comparisons are often unfair. They will pick isolated issues and lamenting bold about.

Maybe you can open a topic where we can put in our ideas in this regard. If it is about some design details of the page itself or some rules and regulations, so as a brainstorming. I can offer you advices from my professional experience regarding such policies on a topic as suggested. Some may be not for public, so you can also contact me anyway via mail.

Neverthless, i hope everyone of us can benefit in either/or way from 3SF.

regards to all

Hey David & Ramsburg,
You have to do what you need to do and that is take 3SOF to the next level adding a lot more Quality to the community.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the $50 monthly fee (as of today!) but I am looking forward to making a donation (sometime in the near future). I would suggest that you consider a One Time fee/donation which would allow the contributor to become a lifetime member! This may enable you to collect some funds that may help you with your start up costs.

The best part I like about 3SOF is that it is an open forum, where trading ideas are exchanged without costs, similar to that of the OPen Software forums.

So dudes what else can I say but Invest in your Passions and Trust your Instincts. Good luck in your venture. Looking forward to picking a few shares of SOF!

And thanks for all the lessons (inclusive of members).

Starfire

PS. the UI still looks cheesy to me (grin). and i do not have access to a few pages inclusive of the 'donation' page. the probelm could be my browser or on your end. it looks like i am the only one having this problem. sigh!

There are so much that I've learned from 3SF, not just what and when to buy but when to get out.  If I have listened to your analyses to get out on time, I would be retiring already  :P

Here comes my donation for a wonderful site.

David and Fred:

I am wondering if you can make this some kind of charity or religion so that our "donations" are tax deductible?

thanx,

Snowy

Hello David and Frederick,

You've got a great site!

I'm considering entering a long postion on VDWB, and would like to know what you think?

What caught my eye, is the long accumulation as seen on cmf(14), the support at 0.35, and the divergence between the price and the accumulation.
I don't know enough about the fundamental value or their product.
would like to know if you think the risk reward ratio is good here?
Thanks,

Ido Haussmann

To:  David & Frederick and all the 3StocksOnFire supporters

I just sent off my $300 donation.  Best of luck to you all and thanks for the invaluable service you have provided.  I have already made money from David's recommendations (during the last 2 weeks, even after the $300 donation!) and won't have any problem giving even more.

I look at it this way:  If you made money with 3StocksOnFire recommendations, and you weren't going to buy those stocks on your own, your gains are ONLY due to David and his supporters.

Even though you are a seasoned trader now, how much of your knowledge and wisdom have been gained from David and his supporters at 3StocksOnFire?

David and his supporters are doing something right in the world of greed and selfishness.  I lost over $1,200 in less than a month following a "mad man" James Cramer on CNBC, how unfortunate, but I chalk it up as lessons learned and now I do my own "research" before I buy.  Even David's buy recommendations are "researched" before I put my $60,000 trading dollars.

Look, David and Frederick are trying to do something they enjoy and believe in.  They have already demonstrated their intent and heart.  If you made money from his recommendation, share the wealth.  If you haven't made much, then give what you can or be willing to give ($1, $5, $10, $20/month etc.).  If you are greedy and don't want to give, don't post your justifications and try to rationalize what other sites and services are doing.

I am sure David and his team has put much thought into their "business" venture.  Heck, they got bills too, you know.  They too have their dreams, like us.

Let's all support this project launch and all benefit from the combined knowledge and experience of 3,000+ network.  I am sure David has learned from us, as we have from him.

With David and his support team being able to pursue trading FULL-TIME, 3StocksOnFire will be that much more effective, I am certain.

Life is short, let's make the best of it!  After all, we can't take any money with us when we die.

Let's support David and the 3StocksOnFire project, secure your 1 year subscription at 50% off (think of it as 50% return on your investment the moment of payment!) and give David and his support team a security of mind for the next year so they can concentrate on trading.
