just got back a few hours ago  ;)

I'll be looking for something tomorrow and I'll get to all the questions by that time :)

OneStockMind

Hi elite.
Glad to hear from you. How was your weekend? At least you could forget about trading for awhile or did you? :)

AVNC came back nicely today. DO you consider getting back in?
I got in PANC today but it looks like it might go down.. I'll wait and see but if it breaks that $11 level it might break out. I saw PANC on buyhigh (after I bought it).. I hate those pumping websites with unrealistic targets (they have target of $24 for PANC :).
BCON made a nice run in the last hour.

Looking forward to see your potential plays.

EliteG,

"Overall" I have noticed over the last few weeks that you sell a stock u have bought quite quickly.  often staying in that stock no more than a day.... if even a day.

Dave Randolph, on the other hand, as i would characterize his trading, stays in a stock often for weeks as long as it is going UP or if it goes DOWN until it goes DOWN too much or returns to the UP path.

It is almost like you refuse to lose on a stock while Dave will take a loss.  Dave's # of losses is more than the # of his gains.  If one of your stocks goes down you will sell it very quickly.

As this is the Infinite Compund Project I am trying to understand your style of trading and thinking.  It is almost like you win more often but smaller amounts and dave wins less often but bigger amounts.  Is this correct?

-rocket8

note:  i admire both styles.  u guys win.   :)

Hey rocket,  I think I change my trading style according to the market.  If I have a strong conviction that a trend is starting I feel better holding the longer swing plays but as you see in the last couple of months the market has not shown a strong trend so I have been very quick about my plays.  I also change my plan to a longer hold if the stock feels right like with BSM(went in Aug 31 and stayed till next day) which I originally thought would be a day trade.

Todays candle in the market was viscious.. I wonder if we now see a strong downtrend begin.

Hey EliteG
Take a look at my BUGS.ob thread or a look @ the chart
Potential G Pattern.

hey SET, I dont think BUGS is done yet and if it crosses .07ish that would be a G-pattern.  I think this chart could end up being HUGE.. we shall see ;)

Ok G man, I need some schoolin here how did you know about dndn. Ive owned the stock for about three months, just because i knew it would be apporved, (ok speculated) sometime in the fall. The company sent me an email some where around 1 pm , so i added , but you picked up on it right away. Is it just involvement in the stock community, in play, crystal ball, do you talk with that guy in prison - the one who says hes from the future? Any way awsome job picking, ive learned so much from your posts and i know the rest of the gang has as well ;D ;D . Thanks for sticking around TonyG

yo agatto2, I been waitin on DNDN since UBS manipulated it down in July.  So I noticed DNDN's intraday pattern and had to buy in.. interesting to see how she moves tomorrow.  Thanks for the good words man  ;) I've learned a bunch from everybody too.  We have the best workplace don't we?

Waiting on xoma for the g pattern

have to agree with irod..thats not a g-pattern on XOMA but a close above 2 may def prove interesting on that one.

Elite

I'm new to this thread

could you summarize your strategy for this project (method of choosing the stocks and how you pick the buy and sell points)
TIA

not really  :D  you see I am using so many methods (I mean I even tried pre-earnings TA, G-pattern, day trading...) I am looking for what I feel is the best play in the market.  I have tried so many times to summarize what I do but I have always felt it to be too confining(narrow).  And I really enjoy the research and analysis aspect so I am constantly adapting to those results too.  So I guess I am using TA to time the best moves in the market.  I won't catch them all but you dont need to to make a whole heck of a lot  ;)

picked up some more AVNC 2.24 stoppin it all @ 1.99

and picked up MGAM @ 10.50 ;)

those plays did not turn out to be nice daytrades but you cant win every time.. and you gotta make those losses as minimal as possible.. and you gotta trade with a reliable internet connection  :D

Was going to get back in PRTL this morning but was too scared from getting burned 2 days ago so I missed a nice morning run..

it looks like it was good you stayed out of PRTL.  Wonder if it will rebound here...

I swear my timing is terrible.
I read your post, and decided to buy, and had I bought literally 3 minutes later, I could have bought for 2.25 instead I bought for 2.44

I hate starting a trade off immediately with a loss, it is so discouraging!

man AVNC sucked.. I hope it didnt go too bad Loffiqus.  Yea starting off with a loss is never good.

Hi elite.
Glad to hear from you. How was your weekend? At least you could forget about trading for awhile or did you? :)

Hey onestock, thx it was a great long weekend.   Let me tell you guys Chicago is a really nice city.  Very alive and happening.  Of interest to traders; I visited the Chicago Mercantile Exchange(CME) visitor center where they have this cool speculator/hedger game.  I did so well trading lumber I'm thinking of switching to futures  :D..

.. also got to see the Chicago Board of Trade building but they wouldn't let me in to the vistior center without a reservation... I was like "..but I'm eliteG.. with 3 Stocks On Fire".. Still no entry, lol.

..saw my brokerages headquarters right across from the Sears Tower.  Had a drink on top of the Hancock building.  Saw the biggest aquarium in the world (which is soon to be replaced by Atlanta's aquarium, HA!) and the LEGO store, yep.  They have a Darth Vader and R2-D2, all life-sized, made out of LEGO'S.  Saw where Trump is building the soon to be most expensive residential building in Chicago.  And partied.. now I'm ready for trading.  :)

welcome back.  we missed u.  ur last post was funny.

today i had 4 stock picks go up.  i was only in 1 of them but i am always happy when i get things right.  RITA, EGHT, RGEN, ASTM.  EGHT is looking interesting.  lots of new deals and press.

lately, i have noticed stocks go UP HIGH and then come DOWN in the same day.  since you are daytrading i wonder if you notice that too ???  why is that happening?????

the two stocks i missed the last few months that hurt the most are AOB and HOM.  i hate when you watch it go up, up, and up and never pull the trigger.

check out the volume on CNXT.  its just fun to see that kind of volume.  insanity.  Cramer.  damn popular tv show.

irod

I've noticed it too. They always run up (the ones that do) at the beginning of the day ant almost always come back down later on, only to have quick runs up or down at the very end of the day. I'd love to see some statistics about buying stocks on the open and selling after 1 or 2 hours.

irod

EliteG: About your trading technique, why didn't you just stick to G-plays? I never saw a single one go bad! Sounds to me like working only on those and compounding you could make some huge gains.

thx for the welcome back rocket, i missed the fire crew too.  Interesting picks there.. I'm stayin away from EGHT.. i dont know it just feels heavy.

yea AOB and HOM are 2 stocks i feel I just let go by me.  How dare they rise without me!  >:(

i havent noticed anything abnormal about it but maybe those particular stocks have a strong daytrading contigent in them and they sell out en masse near the end of the day.

hey irod, nothing works perfect.. I have seen some G-patterns not work out.  There is a point where you refine your criteria on a pattern and a point where you have to say not everyone of these can work.  But dont worry I'm looking for g-patterns  ;)

rickjust

hi elite g,
can you recommend any good books on day trading ?
i am just starting out and haven't tried it but i would love to go deeper.
thanks,
maxi

eliteG

cant really think of a good book for daytrading but I'll try to find one.. most of the daily TA works on a tiny intra-day basis.  If you have any specific thoughts let me know.

I recommend watching PQUE today if you want to learn about daytrading.  I am having lots of fun both short and long(now) on it.  :)

OneStockMind

Is PQUE one of those G-patterns? What's the game plan on this one today?

eliteG

not a g-pattern just lots of volume for intraday..

switched positions(long/short) on it 4 times now

long @ 10.74 on PQUE right now.. but ready to switch if need be

OneStockMind

eliteG

hmm GEPT doe slook interesting thx one stock  ;)

still long on PQUE but the triangle break will decide its future..

eliteG

tryin some FUEL here @ 4.13.. I see potential in this pattern(perhaps even for an overnight) and I guess I gotta try out some more energy related stocks.

PQUE broke the triangle upwards.. wonder how it will do with 11 this time around.. the shorts may get scared.. hmm

eliteG

picked some more FUEL up @ 20ema 4.02.. hmm lets see if it can hang on

PQUE was repelled @ 10.95 and now looking for it to bounce back up or I gotta let it go.
