I don't mind if he posts on Yahoo.  I am a member of 3stocksonfire.  The way that I found it is because someone posted on the messageboards of Yahoo.  Otherwise, think I may never have ran across this site.....

This may be bad but it wouldn't hurt me if the stock happens to go up because of his informative posts. Am I the only one who feels this way?

The same history happened with me: I found link to 3stocksonfire in Yahoo messageboard. I think, Yahoo MB is a best advertising place for site  ;)

Sure, I don't appreciate to see excellent David (or other members) analysis in a free of charge boards, but links... how knows...
I like this site, but to continue their work 3SoF staff needs money, so if some new subscribers appear, it will be better for David and Co. ... and for me  ;)

Good trades,

Since the premium service started up, I have been trying to figure out where I stand on this situation - it is obvious that the "value added" on stocks in the 3SOF portfolio is definitely not restricted to David and Frederick's input - there are many people here who contribute a huge amount to the ongoing analysis of different stocks.  However, theere are 2 things that I think are potentially problematic here:

1. With threads ongoing in the premium service board and in stock picking or elsewhere, it often gets confusing and somewhat tedious to search and read multiple threads - quite a few stocks have 2, 3 or more threads ongoing!!

2. As premium members, most of us have gladly donated to 3SOF, based on David and Frederick's picks and analysis, and profits realised from these.  My feeling is that as members contributing to their analysis, we should focus our posts in the ongoing posts in the premium boards, not only as these are the most current threads, but in a sense to maintain the "added value" on the picks that they make.  If most of the analysis by members is also available on non-premium boards, it provides little incentive to non-paying members and guests to subscribe - they can see what picks 3SOF has made and follow much of the discussion elsewhere.  In fact, although I know that this is a very open community, I am surprised that David and Frederick have not decided to "ring fence" their picks in any way, restricting non-premium threads.  Although I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do. ???

I am sure that they are thinking these things through also as they refine their business model, but I would rather support them by posting in member's sections than in non-member's sections when possible.  Also, I am not entirely sure whether I like the idea of guests being able to access the non-premium content, effectively leaving all of our analysis available to anyone.  This is a community, and a community is defined by the contributions of all of its members - leechers do not provide any value to anyone.

Finally, as to the ubiquitous Yahoo MBs -- I too came to 3SOF from a post on a yahoo MB, and was so excited when I started looking around, as it was just what I'd been trying to find.  This is a good thing, however, they are heavily trafficked and fickle places, and I really don't want a lot of the kinds of people who post there to start posting here - every time I see some reference to 3SOF on a Yahoo MB, I get a bit annoyed.  As David has said in previous posts, the whole point of our work here is to get an edge on the rest of the market, to be ahead of the curve.  If everyone has access to the research we have worked hard to produce, we lose that edge, and become part of the herd.  To maintain the success here, I think we need to be a bit more protective of what we have, and perhaps David and Frederick need to think about ways to implement this within the site (e.g. severely restricting guest acess to the front page, say).

Anyway, just my thoughts on a cloudy Monday morning,

Happy trading,

the Scotsman  ;)

The volume on this thing is astounding. Total shares just over 43,000,000.  No resistance and looking good!

LiveLife, I very much appreciate all the informative posts on NVAX and hope you don't choose to concentrate your posts mainly on Yahoo MB. I have a hard enough time trying to keep up with the posts on 3SOF I want to read and sure wouldn't want to have to try and sift through all the "rude and inappropriate" junk out there on Yahoo. So, whatever additional sites you choose to post on, I hope you won't stop posting here.

Also, with regard to access to premium content, most paid sites offer a 2 or 3 week free trial that gives a person full access to the service. At the end of that time, it's take it or leave it. Maybe that is being offered here. I couldn't tell from the home page.

I, too, hope some of the threads can be combined because I end up checking them all to make sure I don't miss anything on the stocks I own and there is a lot of overlap. I also think with so many more members and more posts the response time on the whole site appears to be slower. I'm not very computer savvy but I wonder if some older threads could be archived in some way that might make a difference in response time.

Thanks.
Theresa

lifelife almost puts the same phrases, text on the open posts(nvax)  like in here...about the stocks that are in the current portfolio of 3sof premium members we should keep the information in here (posting only in here about stocks that are in the portfolio like nvax) ...and premium member should not leak information out of here...it doesn t make any sence.  ;).

another opinion is that i would hide the open trades. Just showing  the closed trades and the overall performance to the public.  People get the picks for free (some people would get member just to get the picks)....(just my meaning, take it easy)
Happy Trading. ;)

Another nice day for NVAX!  $0.42 gain with 25 million shares in volume!

After early profit taking on open, nice steady climb to a new 52 week high of $4.15!  For swing traders, would have been nice to sell at $4.30+ to buy back at $4+.  ;)

If you are long, I would hold until the Institutional/money managers starts selling.   ;)

According to David, you hold until the 10 MA begins to drop towards the 50 MA.  Looking at the chart, there no sign of that for now.  50 MA broke through the 200 MA and this is a very significant signal.  The 200 MA is still on a downward slope.  Once it flattens and turns positive, a true positive signal!  If this trend continues, we should see more analyst upgrades.

David increased the target to $10.56 yesterday, and NVAX looks to be headed that way.

I am quite exhausted from this weekend! (sleep deprivation from all the NVAX postings on 3StocksOnFire and Yahoo MB - several hundred posts!)  :D  I may resume my "double" posting in the future.

In the meantime, here's the link to public NVAX board:

Congress Gets Serious About A Pandemic  Thanks again mnecklstring for the link!    :D

What's scarier in Washington, the prospect of a flu virus that could kill millions or the possibility that voters will toss out any politician who fails to prepare the nation for such a disaster? A pandemic could be a true global catastrophe, of course. But along the Potomac the second threat is also very real. That's a big reason why both the White House and Congress are rushing to boost America's capacity to produce vaccines and drugs against flu and other diseases.  More...

Another nice day on this one. "Get Some" ;)

MACD is bullish
Stochastic is bullish

Also the Golden Cross has taken place............
The 50-day EMA crossing over the 200-dayEMA

When a shorter moving average like the 50-day crosses above a longer one like the 200-day it is a major buy signal. In Japan this signal is called a "Golden Cross." The reverse is called a "Dead Cross" and it is a sell signal. Using moving average crossovers takes the subjective part of chart reading, as this is just pure math in determining the trend. When the 50-day crosses above the 200-day it's a signal to go long.
