Hi ehos and Terlisa,

I pulled $25,000+ from my NVAX trade within 2 weeks.  It was a nice trade that could have been $45,000 because I did not swing trade and take profits when I had it.

I got "talked" into holding long with NVAX and after reviewing my trade log of past several weeks tonight, I am confirmed that I need to go back to my "full" swing trader mode.

The whole reason why I "parked" with GNBT this MORNING was because it was the only stock that was actually gaining in midst of the sea of red selloff.

And once again, I had an opportunity to take profit at $1.51 (I bought in at $1.34) with more than $4,000 gain, but I was very distracted today.  Well, at the last minute, the selling pressures of the day took hold of the GNBT and selling occured.  If it wasn't for the marketwide selloff, I believe GNBT would have held around $1.40 - $1.60.

I agree with what you both said.  I think the selling will continue tomorrow.  Many "seasoned" traders I talked with sold NVAX, HEB, SVA and BCRX on gains and bought GNBT and also experienced nice gain so far.  GNBT is probably the lowest of the Avian plays that still has some "leg" left.

As I always say, time is the best judge.

I am glad I sold NVAX this morning and got out before the afternoon selloff.

I will be watching the market open very closely.  I considered cash position, but after such massive selloff, there will be some nice rebounding.  Who knows, I may return to NVAX, SVA, HEB and BCRX.  It all depends what happens tomorrow, and it happens to be Friday.  Generally, short-term traders and day traders like to close out trades by Friday afternoon.  So, we may see some more bearish selloff tomorrow.

Good trading!

Here's the TA chart.

The 10 MA is running away from 50 MA, and 50 MA has BROKEN through the 200 MA!!!

It is very bullish but we must take the last two days of bearish selling into consideration.  We'll know tomorrow how this chart trend will play out and into next week.

Good trading!

Good morning!

Last night, I reviewed my list of stocks and still decided to monitor NVAX, HEB and SVA.

With still bearish market trends in the near future, I decided to convert to cash this morning while I wait for a good entry point.

Take care.

Good trading!

Although I cashed out of GNBT and bought back NVAX, I believe following Bloomberg report will have "positive" news on all Avian related plays:

Repost from Yahoo NVAX MB:

With previous post said, I believe we should approach Monday as though we just walked on to the stock market (with FRESH and OBJECTIVE perspectives).

As confirmed by Bloomberg report below, after today's rally, market is poised to go bullish after last three months of "bearish" market trends.

If we don't have an objective fresh look at the market, we may not do what we need to do.

Bloomberg just reported these:

- We are just coming out of the historical annual "bear market" that runs from late July-September.
- Historically during this time, market loses about 10% of value...Nasdaq lost 9%, confirming the annual trend.
- Historically, November through January has shown to be bullish following the these bearish months.
- There are good GDP numbers showing that economy is improving as we move into the holiday seasons.
- Market rally of Friday despite poor earnings by companies like Microsoft expresses that market maybe ready for a bullish return

With the forecast of the Bull market return for Nov-Jan, many who cashed out of the bearish market will start to return on Monday and buy in.

This new wave of buyers will increase demand for many popular stocks, including NVAX.

So, I would recommend that we keep this in mind, despite the $6 to $3.59 we recently experienced with NVAX.

New buyers will see the pullback as a "BUYING OPPORTUNITY" and jump in.

Of course, time will tell, but the bullish market report will be continued by the media all weekend.

Good trading!

I am afraid that the SEC might halt GNBT trading. That news last week about meeting with "interested senator in bird flu vaccine" sounds like a desperate attempt by the company to avoid delisting. I believe they were scheduled to be delisted in November. With daily desperate PRs, this company is rapidly losing any credibility it had.

To me it sounds like another CAFE. Be very careful with this one.

chalupa

I bet you GNBT management and PR company are busy coining the words of a catchy PR to be released tomorrow, and printing more shares as fast as they can

I laughed like crazy when I saw a post at the GNBT Y---hoo  board  talking about David Letterman's top 10 P&D PRs. He had CAFE at No. 2 with the infamous WalMart Verbal contract, and No. GNBT with the Interested Senators on bird flu vaccine PR.

What is next, that they met with Interested members (on bird flu vaccine) of the UN, or perhaps Interested members of the World Health Organization? They are almost forced to issue PR's daily to keep the stock from being delisted.

I would not touch this one with a 10 foot pole

Those interested in NVAX should also check out GNBT because GNBT has similar performance. GNBT, similar to NVAX, engages in the research and development of drug delivery systems and technology. It's product include the flu vaccine and currently has plans to seek Congresional support for the accelerated development of its a H5N1 avian influenza vaccine.

Check out my review of NVAX and GNBT here and let me know what you think. I currently hold GNBT.  ;D

Generex Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Program to Be Presented at Novel Vaccine Concepts Conference in Washington, D.C.
Novel Vaccine Technology Boosts T Helper Cell Responses to Asian Bird Flu Influenza
11/2/2005 9:02:37 AM

TORONTO, Nov 02, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Generex Biotechnology Corporation (GNBT) announced today that Dr. Robert Humphreys, Chief Scientific Officer of Antigen Express, Inc., its wholly owned immunotherapeutics subsidiary, will make a presentation at a scientific symposium of a novel vaccination approach to protect against pandemic influenza.

Dr. Humphreys will present "Ii-Key/MHC class II Epitope Hybrid Peptide Vaccine For H5 Pandemic Flu" at the 3rd annual "Vaccines - All Things Considered" scientific symposium at the Sheraton Pentagon South conference center in Washington, D.C. Participants at this conference represent many academic groups and scientists from the Food and Drug Administration, the Center for Disease Control, and principal vaccine companies such as Baxter, Cel-Sci, Chiron, GlaxoSmithKline, Medimmune, Wyeth, and others.

The organizers of the conference said: "'Vaccines - All Things Considered' will explore new approaches and technologies to this imperative issue in society. This conference will cover many important aspects of vaccine discovery, development, acceptance and alternatives. Reports and successful stories of smallpox and polio, why concerns about an influenza outbreak remain fervent, and the progress of potential technologies, are just a few of the many topics to be discussed."

Dr. Humphreys explained that the primary means for controlling a potential pandemic of the influenza H5N1 virus is vaccination. Inactivated H5N1 viral and baculovirus-expressed H5 hemagglutinin (HA) protein vaccines have been evaluated in humans. The amount of vaccine needed to generate neutralizing antibody responses is reported to be 12-fold higher than the standard amount used in the seasonal flu vaccine, indicating that the H5 HA protein is poorly immunogenic in humans. The use of an adjuvant or other antigenic epitope-specific methods is needed to make best use of limited antigen supplies.

Antigen Express scientists have synthesized a series of hybrid vaccine peptides linking the immunoregulatory Ii-Key moiety to influenza H5 HA HLA class II epitopes in an effort to identify epitopes that potently stimulate T helper cells. These may be used to enhance immunogenicity of the current vaccines and as a stand-alone vaccine in people that do not have access to traditional vaccines. It is estimated that less than 5% of the US population and no one in the developing countries will have access to a traditional or cell-culture manufactured H5N1 influenza vaccine. For these people, H5 Ii-Key hybrid peptides will likely be the only vaccine available. This vaccine can also be readily produced for mass vaccinations in a short period of time.

In mouse studies, interferon-gamma responses to Ii-Key/hybrids are increased 8 to 10 times versus epitope-only peptide, when assayed by ELISPOT with immunopurified CD4+ cells. Antigen Express scientists chose influenza HA HLA class II epitopes predicted for presentation by a series of common HLA-DR alleles, toward making a selected set of 6-8 hybrid vaccine peptides cumulatively presented by HLA-DR alleles present in > 90% of humans. Upon infection, such activated T-helper cells will enhance the strength and duration of a virus neutralizing antibody response. Preliminary results indicate that H5 Ii-Key hybrid peptides enhance CD4+ T helper cell responses on their own and antibody responses following recombinant HA protein immunization (rHA).

The Antigen Express team is developing a vaccine for pandemic Asian bird flu (H5N1 strain) based on H5 MHC class II epitopes, which have been selected for likelihood of being both potent and presented by many HLA-DR alleles. Ii-Key/MHC class II epitope hybrid peptides contain an immunoregulatory segment of the Ii protein (the Ii-Key moiety), loosening the epitope-binding groove of MHC class II molecules and permitting insertion of a polymethylene-linked MHC class II epitope. Doing so increases the potency of epitope presentation up to 200 times in vitro, as measured in a T-cell hybridoma response assay. In addition, Ii-Key hybrids with MHC class II epitopes of principal cancer and infectious disease antigens increase the T-helper cell response 4-8 times in vaccinated mice, as measured using purified CD4+ T cell IFN-gamma ELISPOT assays. Presently, Antigen Express has an ongoing phase I clinical trial with Ii-Key/Her-2/neu hybrids in breast cancer patients. Data from these trials are relevant to establishing the safety and effect of this novel type of vaccine, for later use in validating an influenza vaccine.

Ongoing experiments lead by Drs. Douglas Powell and John Zinckgraf of Antigen Express with such Ii-Key/influenza H5 antigenic epitope hybrid peptides are aimed at determining: 1) Which Ii-Key/H5 MHC class II epitope hybrids best stimulate T helper cells in BALB/c and DR4 transgenic mice; 2) The optimal immunization scheme and hybrids to prime for rH5-elicited, neutralizing antibodies; 3) The lowest dose/least frequency of rH5 immunizations after optimal priming with a selected set of Ii-Key/H5 MHC II epitope hybrids that produce protective titers of neutralizing antibodies; and 4) The duration and potency of T cell memory induced by a heterologous Ii-Key hybrid/rHA immunization regimen. The focus of these studies is to identify a potent vaccine against pandemic H5N1 influenza for clinical testing.

Anna Gluskin, President & Chief Executive Officer of Generex, said, "I am pleased with the progress of the Antigen Express team to advance this novel vaccine technology toward the clinic. The initial experiments in mice are very promising. It is important to recognize that the vaccine peptides being studied in mice were designed to be the ones actually used in any final commercial product for humans. Being able to test these vaccine peptides in mice is very fortunate, especially in terms of rapidly developing the best prime-boost vaccination protocols."

I was starting this text with fundamental information about GNBT, but I've remembered that the trades on the 3 SOF Fast Portfolio are to be technically based, so they can be fast and very objective.

At GNBT I see lots of volume and buying interest. The stock traded 9 million plus shares on Friday, so it is one of the kind I'm looking for.

Since the bullish breakout on the 26th of October, the stock didn't advance all that much, but it didn't break support either. In fact it is making slight higher lows on each selling attempt by investors.

This way I can draw a slight ascending trendline that connects the lows since October 26th. For tomorrow that ascending trendline will be standing at $1.12.

If the stock trades below $1.09 (which was the resistance level, now support), this trade loses validity, I will stop it at $1.08.

On the upside, if the stock manages to break the high set on October 27th of $1.51, it leaves me a technical target of $1.51-$1.09=$0.42+$1.51 = $1.93. I would take profits there.

So, I'll buy GNBT at tomorrow's open for the Fast Portfolio (33.3% of equity, $5,000) and the trading plan for tomorrow is:

1) Sell at a loss if the stock prints $1.08;
2) Sell at a profit at $1.93

David Randolph

Everything is going as planned with GNBT. I will maintain my take profits zone, which is $1.93, but I'll raise my sell with not so great profits zone to reflect yesterday's rise.

On the 3 SOF Fast Portfolio we want just stocks that are moving up, and fast. We don't want anything pausing, taking a breather, waiting, accumulating or whatever. It needs to go up, now, or I'll dump it !

I'll use the same method that I've presented with AOB, if the stock is set to close below the midpoint of yesterday's white candle, I'll sell it. That midpoint was $1.29.

The trading plan for today is:

1) Take profits around $1.93.
2) Sell if the stock is set to close below $1.29.
