I can tell you that anyone selling to buy on pullbacks will end up losing is position and probably a big part of the bullish move in VPHM. Trading is a simple game: I will hold VPHM as  the stock closes above that ascending trendline or until she touches my target at $12.32.

Well dave is very much right about day trading this stock. Before he picked up this stock for 3SF  I had traded it for like eight times, each time selling for a small profit hoping to buy low and sell high again. And most of the time I missed the next big jump. And imagine this all started from 2.68. Had I been patient with it, I would have been sitting on something like 150% profit.

Anyway, last bought at 5.85 and holding it till the trend line is broken or we reach our target at 12.32.

I have a problem with VPHM - I have an open 15% profit on it and the trend is bullish. But I'm taking many losses in other stocks today. I have to take some profits too not to damage my overall performance.

Any individual business in a given stock must be submissive against the global portfolio balance and performance.

I can understand taking a profit. But stromg stock fundamentals often outweigh the indices. FORD continued to go up after the nas Index faltered. I got stopped out of FORD because I did not think it could continue its rise.

I am keeping VPHM. I sam stuck in a couple of others I wish I had sold and VPHM is one I would add to on a pullback. It may be difficult to re-enter at a lower price since good news keeps coming out.

Dave,

You did what you had to do and I applaud you.

I will add on weakness with VPHM and if I were a as good a trader as you, I would likely do what you did.

All the best,

John

It might be an idea to have a look at VPHM again!

It seems it finally has broken out of the base at 7 under reasonable volume.

Vancocin no. for june should soon be here and I wouldn't be surprised if they will be followed by Piper Jaffray raising their target.

PRICE TARGET: $8.50 IS POSSIBLE, TRUE ?

Michael

I am not trying to hype the stock but I really think you are way to conservative. It seems like they are heading for an EPS of $1 to $1.2. I will write a bit more about this later but as fare as I remember their agreement around Vancocin is that if the sales exceed $65 million they don't have to share the profit. (check here: http://www.naztradamus.com/ make sure to read the whole page! ). The revenue was 10.2 million last month!

I think Viropharma should trade at a PE of around 20 so you can do the math.

I think to place a "price target" may not be a good idea just yet. I have seen people bail on the way up and be afraid to get back in.

The VPHM chart is almost a perfect match of FORD. Consolidation in the $6's and $7's, then a run to $14 and conslidate in the $10 to $12's. And then a run to the $20's.

Technically VPHM is in uncharted territory and fundamentally getting stronger.

All the best.

If you look at the top of page 3 on this topic you will see David's target was $12.32 after it fills the gap from March of 2002.  Even though this stock was doing well, David sold it to offset other 3SOF losses and because he was expecting a general market correction.  (Which did happen, incidentally.)

Good luck, Racer X

I'm still  holding this since 5.70. :D

Dave,

You should put VPHM back on the list.  This has all the workings of a monster stock.  I wonder how much $$ they have on hand?  I get the May / June scripts havent even been announced yet?  Why is this taking so long?
