I'll take profits on GIGM around today's open. I'll continue holding the stock on the Long Term on Fire Portfolio.

I need to get more active and back to the old trading style if I want to beat the market month after month. I need an open mind and the flexibility to change ideas as the market changes. Open to the future and free from the past.

After all, there is a trading and an investment portfolio.

A U.S. ban on on line gambling is hard to enforce - look at their success at handling kiddie-porn.  Zero!

A world-wide ban is ridiculous.  Mah-Jong and Gambling are part of the culture of Asia and this company has a strong hold on both.  If they can come out with some earnings, I think this company has a good future.  I cannot get a handle of when earnings are, though.

GIGM's yahoo message board is very interesting place with
some very special individuals. Here is the best:

I think GIGM is shaping up for a run probably to the upper bollinger band around $5.10 or at least to challenge the $5 resistance. Friday's move took it just over significant short term resistance, if Monday is OK it will start that run, but if Monday is weak then it will not make it much past $4.75.

I read that post in Yahoo message board too.

Don't bet on China's market. Gambling is illegal in China and there is no way an Internet gambling website can get money out of China.

Do you know how on-line shopping (Ebay for example) is doing business in China now?

Two ways for the payment:

1. bank money transfer
2. pay on the spot: they deliver the product at your door and I pay the cash.

No credit card transactions, no paypal transactions.

I made many on-line purchases in Beijing, China.

Sometimes, I sent the money by bank transfer, sometimes I paid the money when they deliver the products to my apartment door.

On-line games are legal in China. You can buy points to play the games at home through bank money transfer. Or in Internet cafes, you pay cash by hour.

I just don't know how Internet gambling company can get the money out of China?

They cannot open a bank account in China. Internet cafes are strictly controlled by the government.

Anyone can tell?

Unless I can figure out how they can make money from China's market, I will not buy this stock. May be they can make money in Taiwan, HK, Singapore.

EMA(50) is support line IMO

50(MA) support, bottom bollinger band, and ADX is tight!!!

I may buy more tomorrow.   :o

Good luck

What do you think about GIGM? Is it in a symetrical triangle (bullish continuation pattern with decreasing volume - 75% chance of upward trend continuation)? I am still holding and being patient...

I'm still holding.  I did not sell when DR existed in the SOF portfolio.  Also this is my pick for the $1000 contest.

GIGM chart is looking good for a continuation move very soon. Support from the 50sma is holding and MACD is plotting a nice positive divergance over the past 3 weeks or so. Red line on chart signifies a key pivot point for me ($4.74) multiple touches here and converging with upper bollinger band, so a break of that will be good.
Major caveat to all the above mumbo jumbo is that earnings are due anyday, everyone is waiting for decent earns and perhaps some more info regarding FunTown. If that dissapoints then the great weight of expectation will get real heavy on the price.
I am holding, but may lighten up before earnings (if we get a date that is)

AussieTrader I agree with your post.  My feeling is that most speculators and "mo" players are already out during the month-long consolidation we've had.  I guess if there is a significant run into earnings then I'd lighten up, otherwise it's probably going to be fine unless the earnings turn out to be a diseaster.

Michael, you mentioned a stop loss of $4.95.  Was it $3.95 that you meant?
