Nice retest of previous breakout point ($13) and resumption of momentum. That is classic breakout / backfill / continue strong chart action. Any stock setting new 52 week / multi year highs is a stock you want in your port.

XING is now entering it's period of better transparency, remember they have stated that starting from Q3 they will start releasing quarterly results in a more timely and comprehensive manner. So over the coming couple months we will see 1H results, Q3 new transparency results, guidance update for 2006 (based on results we see from Q1 through Q3), commentary relating to market position, new product release, CECT update (perhaps) etc. All in all lots in the pipe to add fuel on the action.

My stop is moved to $12.60 trailing the 9ema, sitting below the just created reaction low and just about 1.25 ATR. Right now I am considering splitting to a 50:50 stop approach tucking half up closer to the action, but not decided yet. The swing trade target is $16 (see my 18th sept notes on chart). So will look take some profit there, although I am looking to hold most position longer.

Thanks UC, XING still looking strong, consolidating in a  bull flag right now. I expect it will break to the upside, have moved my stop just a bit closer to $12.80, again not a hard stop as XING has the habit of downside faking prior to strong continuation. Can't do anymore than that, let the trade take its shape.

XING trying to move out the flag some, but no real conviction yet. This week I am expecting news from XING regarding earnings etc and continuation in price for the stock. I have moved my stop up again to protect my total position as currently markets seem to be getting toppy. I don't expect XING to correct in fact the opposite, but need to protect my profit.

I am still long XING and think there is plenty of fuel left in the tank. I will not be surprised if XING trades at somewhere near $30 going into / early 2007.

The upcoming 1H results and the new Q3 onwards reporting transparency combined with the market penetration / growth XING is seeing and the increasing position taking from institutions are combining nicely.

These long term charts show nicely the opportunity and current significant resistance areas. First chart is weekly, second monthly:

A good day for XING and also the markets in general. Still within the bull flag area but on the cusp of breaking out. I added to my position on the low volume pullback to the flag bottom on Tuesday, seemed to be a low risk entry. I am still expecting upside break to occur. On decent break of this continuation pattern / $14.60 area I will move my stop up to $13.50 area which has proven good support.

Hi Aussie,

Thanks for all your hardwork on XING. I guess the rest of us are just enjoying a free ride to the north  ;)

XING showed continued strength yesterday with a close at the top of a beautiful white candle. A revision of 3SOF's stop is long overdue. I will however put a bit more safety margin in than you suggest. XING has repeatedly shown that it can have erratic moves (both to the upside and down side  ::)) around earning releases.

We will set a new stop at 12.4. This protects our profit on this trade but still leave space for some wild swings.

XING is still incredible cheap based on fundamentals and we should soon have a lot of news out. In fact I have a feeling that the news are already outthere somewhere!

Damn right Michael, loads of buying pressure over the past few sessions, lots of people are wanting a bit of XING before the 'news is out' And, as Michael suggests lots of people are buying XING as they already know the news and are buying ahead of its release.

Talking of 'news' there remains persistant discussion of an acquisition of XING or one of its subsidiary e.g. CECT. Who knows for sure, but it all goes to add the fuel.

Here is a long term monthly chart showing significant resistance which has just been breached. And showing the potential upside. In fact any chart you pull up on XING right now looks HOT!!!!!!

Good pick. >100% gain so far. The problem for this account is that we are 70% in cash.

SVA in at $2.10 last month, $3.70 now and 76% gain so far.
Portfolio gined another 2.3% in October.
Total gained 2,186% since 2001-07-01.
Total gained 70% since 2006-06-01.

Amazing performance shawfund... applaud ;)

Michael

Congrats to shawfund. I will pay extra attention to your stock picks from now on!!!

I guess we are all waiting for the earnings release   ::)

Interesting how time can change the sentiment on a stock!

1 year ago when XING traded below 6 anybody who spared 5 minutes could see that this stock had tremendous potential and yet a 5 minutes delay in the earning would cause the stock to crash. These days it seems like the longer we have to wait for the earnings the better.  ;)

We will hold over earnings. The prelude has been very promising and we have (finally!) protected our profit with a decent stop.

I have some time off tonite and i read back in the thread. I saw there were some doubt about the IPO of CECT based on the Dutton report. Right CECT will not be IPO'ed but that is really only a matter of names (IMHO).

Enjoy the weekly chart  :D

Michael, you touted this stock back when it was around 7.50 (and probably longer) and after researching it for myself I had the same enthusiasm.  It wasn't just another stock pick for you, you really believed that this was a monster waiting to break out.  How could a company with this type of growth have a PE of about 6???

I wound up putting 33% of my portfolio into XING and have enjoyed the benefits ever since.  This one trade will keep me a 3SOF member for as long as you guys keep going!  >:D

Thanks!

Interesting news, Philips pulls out of China (in terms of selling mobile handsets) and interestingly CEC will take over the responsibility for manufacturing / selling Philips phones over the next 4 years. http://www.cec.com.cn/cecchannel/english/cecchannel/news/Shownews.asp?id=666

Now, CEC which is a state owned administration entity and has very strong relationships with CECT (as they used to part own with XING) which I assume would take the actual role of manufacturing and selling the phones.

CECT is not mentioned in the release, I am just concluding this is how it would work.
