I agree. I bought a small lot at 82 cents yesterday before making a thorough DD. Hope to have more time later this week so that I will feel more comfortable to increase my position (or sell)

I think it has broken its long term bearish line. Hope it goes up quickly

Transmeta Now Forecasts Positive Cash Flow for Second Quarter; Auditor to Resign

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- Transmeta Corp. shares jumped after the developer of computing, microprocessor and semiconductor technology, said Friday that it now expects to see positive cash flow in the second quarter. The announcement comes just a few months after auditors doubted whether the company could continue as a going concern

Transmeta shares rose 21 cents, or 35 percent, to 81 cents in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq, at nearly six times the average trading volume. Shares, which are down 50 percent for the calendar year, have fallen progressively from an October high of $2.19.

In May, the company said it was ahead of a goal to reduce its negative cash flow to less than $5 million per quarter by the end of the second quarter. A month earlier, Transmeta had received a going concern opinion from its auditors related to the company's 2004 financial statements.

Transmeta will report second-quarter results in early August.

"We have surpassed our first goal of substantially reducing our cash burn, and in fact I am now able to comfortably say that we will report positive operating cash flow for the 2005 second quarter," said Mark R. Kent, Transmeta chief financial officer, in a statement. "We are encouraged by the positive financial and operational progress across our business."

Later, in an interview, Kent said that the turnaround was driven by key partnerships with Microsoft Corp. and Sony Corp., selling low-power technology to companies like Sony and Fujitsu, and licensing of the company's LongRun2 technology. LongRun2 technology reduces total chip power to cut down on energy leakage which increases as chip gets smaller.

Restructuring efforts at the company have also paid off, since March when Transmeta shaved 67 jobs, mostly in sales and marketing, to reduce head count to 208 employees.

Chief Executive Arthur L. Swift said in an interview that engineers were spared from the cut to retain creative talent.

"The most important thing is that our new business model is working," Swift said. "Power leakage is a key problem for the industry."

Transmeta also said Ernst & Young will resign as the company's accounting firm after completing services for the quarter ended Sept. 30. The company plans to name a new accountant in the third quarter.

The company received a warning from the Nasdaq National Market in May for failure to maintain a minimum stock price of $1 per share for 10 consecutive business days. Transmeta needs to comply with the minimum price requirement by Nov. 15 or will face delisting.
