Unfortunately, if NVAX gaps up 14% at this morning's open, it's marked for a "Gap To Crap," (see my post in the NVAX folder, if interested).

That "Gap To Crap',' into a brick wall at 4.70-4.72 in after hours yesterday, hurt us.

This morning's "Gap To Crap" in NVAX was to a much lower level, GNBT rallied to 1.81, off a third hit to the Basonista trendline in the hourly chart, and we were done.

>:D

Now, the validated Basonista trendline is broken.  That isn't necessarily fatal as far as getting stopped out at 1.69, but that certainly is a negative.

And, we just printed a new low on the day, at 1.74.  That's the same as Monday's low, so nothing terrible, but that's another negative.

I'm not real patient with trades like this.   :P  :'(

We're at BID 1.75...ASK 1.76.

I'm going to fire GUNBUTT (sell it) if I see 1.73 get printed near the bell, and not wait to get stopped out at 1.69.  I gave him a chance, and he's isn't doing anything.

I don't like the market's negative reaction to the NVAX "good news," and the spillover effect in GNBT.

The sale at 1.73 would give me a loss of 2.8% on the trade.

Melf Elf

Sold at 1.73.  Loss: 2.8%

1.70 is holding thus far, so GNBT could be alright.  Maybe he'll work harder for you guys, now that I fired his GUNBUTT.

basonista

I'm out also.  This is going to have to show some strength before I consider hiring him again.  :(

It's right on the buy here.

This symposium and the demonstration of the latest achievements in the efficacy of Generex Oral-lyn, the Company's proprietary oral insulin spray product, coincide with the Company's effort to access the Indian market as the Company is in the process of registering Generex in Mumbai to pursue the governmental approval for the importation, marketing, distribution, and sale of Generex Oral-lyn in India.

There are more than 35,500,000 adults with diabetes in India, a prevalence of 5.9% which is expected to rise to 8.1% by 2025 (73,475,900) (International Diabetes Federation, 2003), and with the economic burden of diabetes and its complications growing rapidly, the solution lies in alternative approaches to treatment and prevention. The Company believes that Generex Oral-lyn and its Metformin gum product are poised to provide a significant part of that solution.

Generex Biotechnology to Initiate Phase II Clinical Trial in Breast Cancer Patients in Collaboration With United States Military's Cancer Institute
Thursday February 1, 9:45 am ET

Positive Phase I Results Lead to Randomized Phase II Efficacy Studies

TORONTO--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 1, 2007 -- Generex Biotechnology Corporation (NasdaqCM:GNBT - News) announced today that it has entered into a Phase II clinical trial using its novel peptide vaccine in breast cancer patients in conjunction with the United States Military Cancer Institute's (USMCI) Clinical Trials Group under a Clinical Trial Agreement. The immunotherapeutic vaccine, AE37, is being developed by Generex's Antigen Express division in the United States.

The Phase II study will be a randomized, multi-center trial in patients who have completed standard therapy for node-positive or high-risk node-negative breast cancer expressing at least low levels of the HER-2/neu oncogene. These patients are at an increased risk for recurrence; therefore, the endpoint for this study will be a 50% reduction in the rate of relapse of disease at two years. The trial was designed to take advantage of changing paradigms (not yet adopted) for the study of therapeutic cancer vaccines, which proposes a two-phase rather than a three-phase clinical investigation strategy.

The parties initiated a Phase I trial of AE37 were initiated in April of 2005 and have shown good immunostimulatory activity while being safe and well tolerated.

The immunotherapeutic agent being developed by Antigen Express is a peptide derived from a tumor-associated protein that has been modified to enhance stimulation of CD4+ T helper cells. The target protein is encoded by the HER-2/neu oncogene, which has been found to be over-expressed in a variety of tumors including breast, ovarian, prostate, lung, colon, stomach and pancreas. Antigen-specific stimulation of T helper cells, as occurs after immunization with AE37, has been shown in prior studies to be critical for the immune system to mount an effective anti-tumor response.

AE37 is being tested under the direction of COL George Peoples, MD, Medical Corps, U.S. Army stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center. The study involves a collaboration with the USMCI, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) and The Henry M Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (Foundation). Antigen Express has entered into a Clinical Trial Agreement with the Foundation to work with Dr. Peoples, USMCI, and USU to advance Antigen Express' HER-2/neu vaccine efforts for breast cancer.

This news should present a gap in PPS this morning, followed by a run. Anticipate the major up trend to follow over the next few months.

It's one way from here. North. Best and first vaccine test on humans.

Mass production is the key here. The egg based vaccines are useless as the virus continuously mutates.

GNBT'S vaccine will prove to be successful and easily produced.

Bird flu outbreak vet in hospital
06/02/07
A vet involved in the outbreak of bird flu in Suffolk has been admitted to hospital with a mild respiratory illness, the Health Protection Agency said.

The HPA said a range of tests was being carried out to establish the cause of the illness, one of which would be for the H5N1 avian flu.

The HPA spokesman said: "It is highly unlikely the worker has been exposed to H5N1 because of the strict precautionary measures followed. The individual had not been pre-exposed and was wearing full protective clothing."

He said experts hoped the have the results of tests back by Wednesday. He added: "We have a rather faster test these days and it shouldn't take too long to get the results."

Meanwhile, Europe's top veterinary experts ruled out vaccinations to tackle the UK bird flu outbreak.

At talks in Brussels they approved the UK Government's efforts so far to isolate the virus, and dismissed the vaccination option as the answer to protecting poultry flocks "at this time". But the controversial issue will be studied in detail at an international conference in Italy next month.

Earlier a Commission spokesman said decisions by some countries to ban all poultry exports from the UK were "totally disproportionate" and "unjustified". He urged South Africa, Japan, Russia, Hong Kong and South Korea to resume business as usual.

The all-day meeting of the EU's Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health - made up of national government vets from the 27 member states - reviewed and approved the current safety procedures at and around the affected Bernard Matthews farm.

After hearing a report from Simon Hall, from Defra's international animal health division, a committee statement said the origin of the virus was still under investigation.

Testing of samples from infected turkeys was still going on at the EU bird flu laboratory in Weybridge and "may help to clarify the source of the outbreak".

Good accumulation last few days. Pressure building, for a break out.

Showed good strength today with accumulation continuing at the $1.83 to $1.85 mark.

With the strong buying the break out is ever closer.

The Bullish Falling Wedge (pattern in green) breakout in Ol' GUNBUTT, to 2.02 on January 16, is a good illustration of why that particular pattern probably is the least bullish of the bullish patterns.

GNBT immediately ran into congestion from the Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in red) in the low 2.00s, then "walked down" the top of the "Bullish" Falling Wedge, to a low of 1.69 on January 31.

That dragged out affair negated the "possible" Bullish Inverse H&S that we had been looking for, but that January 31 low also established Data Point #4 for a "possible" Symmetrical Triangle breakout (pattern in blue).

GNBT got a bounce to the 50/200DMAs, which are slightly inverted: the 50 is just below the 200.  We'll soon be throwing out big numbers from 50 days ago, which was when the Symmetrical Triangle broke down on November 27, so the 50 DMA will move higher, above the 200DMA, on any decent rally above 2.00.

That will take about another week, to start throwing out the big numbers from the waterfall decline to 1.70, in early December.

In the interim, what would be very nice, technically, would be for GNBT to go down and tag the bottom of the current Symmetrical Triangle (in blue), and validate it as support, then go up and break out of the pattern, with the 50DMA kicking higher above the 200DMA.

The data points for the bottom of the Symmetrical Triangle are listed at the bottom right of the chart.

When we interviewed GNBT a couple weeks back, the 13/21RSIs were looking very nice.   There was a "possible" Bullish Inverse H&S pattern on that chart, and the 13RSI was getting bullish bounces out of synchronicity with its shadow, the 21RSI.  That chart continues to look very good, and even has improved.

I'll post that next.

Melf Elf

The 13RSI kicked higher, out of Bullish Synchronicity, on last week's rally to the 50/200DMAs, so that's some confirmation that GNBT is making an effort to be bullish here.

If we get a pullback to the bottom of the Symmetical Triangle, at 1.74016 for today, February 13, the 13RSI again will pull back toward Bullish Synchronicity with its shadow, the 21RSI, which would be fine.

But, we would want to see that bottom trendline hold, as support.  If it doesn't, then the pattern is "morphing" (changing) into something else, or possibly is a failure altogether.  We won't know that, of course, until later on.

A successful re-test and validation of the bottom of the pattern, then upside follow-thru would strengthen the chart, and improve the chances of a breakout, although GNBT could just break out from here.

I'd like to see that re-test, which I would buy.

Yesterday's low and close of 1.75 is smack on the bottom of the Symmetrical Triangle, so that's a validation if GNBT immediately can move higher from here .

There isn't any more room on the downside, as far as the rising trendline is concerned, so 1.75 has to be support.  1.74 gets "iffy."  Sometimes, we get a violation by a just a hair.

Yesterday's candle is a "possible" Bullish Inverted Hammer.  The high was 1.78, so a print today of 1.79 will be initial confirmation that the candle is bullish, and that we have a successful re-test and validation of the bottom of the pattern.

Quote
I'd like to see that re-test, which I would buy.

And, I also will sell any nonsense, like seeing 1.73...1.72...  :P

This isn't a particularly strong pattern to begin with, and GNBT has been plenty sloppy, so I wouldn't make allowances on the downside.   It still could end up bullish if this important 1.75 support gets broken, but it wouldn't be the Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in blue) that we've been thinking it was, so I wouldn't be interested in holding it, wondering what the heck  Ol' GUNBUTT is doing.

Hold at 1.75, and GET THE JOB DONE!  We want to see 1.79 get printed today.

He's kinda lazy, isn't he?   :D
