Stocks2watch2: You got GNBT ?

More good news from GNBT:

http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/061004/0169149.html

Currently up 3.5% at 1.79.  GNBT keeps flirting with closing above the 200sma, but looks like today it may get rejected again.  Still, GNBT looks bullish with increasing volume, I see a close above the 200sma soon.  Most recent analyst coverage expects $3 to $3.5 for a 12 month window.

I am up nicely since 1.41 but would be interested in other opinions.

tok,

That's great!

I like the action in the 34/55 RSI.

On the first rally to the 200DMA that we played, the 34 thrusted above the 55, which is good.  On the pullback, however, the 34 went below its shadow, the 55.  Oops!

On the second rally to the 200DMA, the 34 thrusted higher again, and thrusted to a new high, above the first rally.  Good.  On the pullback from there, the 34 came into Bullish Synchronicity (readings of 48.05 and 48.09) with its shadow, the 55, but that time, it held and bounced higher.

That's the first time that's occurred since early March (left of chart). Very nice.

The low in GNBT on that move higher out of 34/55 RSI Bullish Synchronicty was 1.47 on September 22.  If you use a print below that, 1.46, as your stop, you lock in a minimum gain on the trade of 3.5% (always excluding a gap down below that, of course).

I also like the fact that GNBT now is trading above its Kumo (Cloud) for the first time since mid-April, and looks to be turning the corner higher.  If it fails, you still get out of the trade with a 3.7% gain, using the 1.46 stop.

Good luck.  I hope that it's a big winner for you.

Finally GNBT will close above the MA 200 !!!!

Trading Idea:

I've been monitoring GNBT price for the last few weeks, and I'm enjoying the current chart setup, GNBT had a contact with its long term ascending support in August and started to build an interesting consolidation pattern since then.
This week GNBT set closes above $1.76, showing some determination to keep this rebound for higher ground.
Probably the stock will consolidate for a while on the $1.70 / $1.90 range, but I think this chart deserves a shot, a breakout of the $1.87 short term high could easily mean another interesting ride to the upside.
$1.76 and $1.69 should provide support in a downside short term scenario.

Trading Plan:
Buy GNBT today at or near the open.

Glad to see GNBT in the 3SOF portfolio again!

October would seem to be the perfect time for it too, judging by the runs in NVAX and GNBT lstarting ast October, it seems to be the start of bird flu fixation by traders and the media alike.  And unlike trying to anticipate hurricane season stocks recently that didnt go anywhere because there were no large hurricanes to hit the US or the Gulf, bird flu is unfortunately (or fortunately for traders) not likely to just go away.

I also picked up some BCRX last Thursday, and AVII is looking good too.  Of course, NVAX too! ;D

Update:
The short term technical outlook looks solid; GNBT just needs to breakout the $1.87 resistance to start up a bigger move, till then the stock is forming an ascending triangle pattern.

Trading Plan:
Hold GNBT
(We'll not be setting an automatic stop for this position yet, although the suggested stop price would be near $1.65)

tok,

GNBT has capitalized on the good technicals.  2.03  MADE this morning, which is a return to the top of the Descending Triangle.

2.15 and 2.16 (measured moves off the two pattern breakouts) still are IN PLAY.  Next horizontal resistance is 2.17 , the May 17, 2006 high.

GNBT found support at the bottom of the Kumo (Cloud) in late September, then found support again last week, at the Kijun-sen (solid red line), and now has turned the corner higher.

In addition to the good technicals, that's nice chart action.

Just took half off the table at 2.22, I had a nice 57% profit, so didnt want to be too greedy.  But if there is a pullback soon, I will buy that half back :-)

The Descending Triangle target of 2.15 and the Ascending Triangle target of 2.16 both MADE.  Not a bad idea to take at least some profits, especially when a DOUBLE target gets MADE.

Thanks Melf!  It may be premature, but I put the other half back on at 2.08 just now, might sell that again later, seems the 5 minute chart is easy to read on this one.  I assume we are going up today because of short covering, or maybe some fund has decided to buy some shares, anyone else care to hazard a guess?
