Stock Picking / Re: CKCM - can it be any better?
March 26, 2007, 10:33:47 PM
This thread died when ITW bought CKCM.  Recent article on ITW Yahoo Finance site says that CKCM is actually a nice fit for ITW.

It brings ITW into the internet world while giving CKCM a large potential client base.

Anyone holding onto ITW?  Michael?

Michael, U haven't posted on BNT recently.  Do u still like it on the fundamental side?  The stock price has languished of late.

Any input appreciated.

CKCM isn't evem res[ponding to the recent good press releases.  Does this mean a top?

Oh, by the way, does anyone have the analysis of CKCM by Motley Fools?  They picked it as one of their Rule Breakers.

Has anyone seen the $15 (72%) gain CKCM made in AH.  Is this for real?  Lets all burn some candles. :)

I've been holding CKCM since the mid teens and will continue to hold.

Before I read Michael's recommendation on CKCM, I wasn't aware that it was an RFID play (like a Symbol or Zebra).

The company also doesn't really present itself as an "RFID" company.  If you read its profile @ Yahoo Finance, RFID is only mentioned briefly in passing.

I think if CKCM presented itself as an RFID innovator, it would do wonders for the stock price and attract new investors and publicity.

Anyone else feel this way?

I've read on message boards that Reuters reported that there exists some medical evidence that the current strain acrtually can't mutate into the human to human transmition strain that we all fear.

Has anyone read this article first hand or know anything about this?

Thanks always Melf Elf for your TA.  I remembered when U were being bashed when you said u were considering shorting SVA.  U were right, however.

Stock Picking / Re: ALGN BO soon !!!

I'm not invested but have watched this stock for a while.

The concept is a definate winner.  My dentist is an investor and believes that Invisilign is revolutionlizing dentistry.  Why would anlyone get ugly braces when they can use an invisible system that my dentist says is cheaper.

Plus Ilve seen so many dentists advertising invisilign.  (oddly I've never seen an ad for Orthoclear).

This is a disruptive technology and could be the next Starbucks.

Is it the lawsuit that is holding this stock back?  I don't understand why earnings are negative.   ???

Hi Michael, Scot,

I initially bought CKCM per Michael's rec at around 19 during Sep of last year.  I sold it as it dropped to 16, and then bought it back at 18.  I like the company and will stick with it.

I have very little experience with shorting so my question is this:  Aren't shorts mostly short term traders?  Doesn't this mean that they short the stock, watch it drop, cover and take their gain?  Or are there long term shorts?  When a company is doing wel, how could such a large short position hold up?

Stock Picking / Re: XING increased sales 300%

Hey Michael,

I put XING on my watch list b/c of your recommendation.  Can you elaborate on why you like XING so much?

Isn't the cell phone market in China crowded.  Plus XING's profit margin, ROE, etc don't seem all that impressive.

XING seems to pale compared to other companies such as CNTF.

Thanks.

Stock Picking / Re: KOMG - innocent until proven guilty

Great call on KOMG Michael.

I got in on your rec.  I wish I got in on STX too.  Suddenly all the analysts and press are jumping on how good STX is.  Is it too late to get into Seagate?

Thanks.

Applause Mike and thank you for these great picks.  I bought KoMG today and will probalby establish a position in STX soon.

Damn, I sold this under 2 a couple of week ago b/c of a margin call.

Do you guys think it is too late to jump in now (Melf)?  I am trying to practice that rule where you buy back good stocks at hugher prices.

The military demonstration gave this Stratalite thing legitimacy.  Alot of people think this was a scam.  Now most believe it is real.  Almost a different stock now.

Went into 711 today to look 4 Slammers.  Saw one-Starburst drink.  It was surrounded by similar Hershey "slammers" made by Dean.  The starburst drink seemed to market itself as a healthy yogurstish drink.

If given the choice I'd buy the Hersey.  My point is that this market is crowded (Tropicana has one too, not to mention Quick)

I don't know anything about this business.  But I'm not sure if kids like this stuff anymore.
