SVA was up a lot intraday but the rally fizzled a bit at the end of the session, on profit taking. Nothing to worry about or even take notice. The trend is still bullish and fundamentals will probably back up this stock on every short term decline phase that eventually happens.

The tema indicator for tomorrow will come at $3.16 and the ascending trendline stands at $3.09.

present at UBS Global Life Sciences and received $4.94M credit line from a chinese bank (I was right about banks giving loans to companies at SVA stage). Pre-market seems to like this news.

Also government grant for avian flu

Michael

Three great news today from SVA (wonder why they had to put them in one pressrelease  ???)

  • They are going to present to 4,000 institutional investors at the UBS Global Life Science Conference. That should give them the visibility they have been lacking till now!
  • The Chiness Government is going to finance the development of the Avian Flu vaccine (Isen't it nice to have good relation to the local authorities )
  • They receive 4.94 million dollar credit line from China Construction Bank with a low interest

I can't help falling in love with this company

$3.98 zone is resistance right now throgh that and we could see a run to $4.45 highs. I would like to see $4 become support for consolidation. I am also holding NVAX for the same reasoning.
This story is not going to go away anytime soon

Well maybe today we see +$4 and a new support zone ;)

PR wise they need to take a lesson in maximising their good news stories. They crammed 3 good releases into 1, oh well all good news anyway. Should make for interesting day.

It looks like I didn't post a chart on SVA on my last update, when something like this happens please send me a private message so I can update the post with the chart, thanks  :)

Michael already told us about the great news the company released today:

Undoubtedly, awesome news for SVA !

Yes, we've had great technical developments on SVA, I had to design a new trendline, TL2, with a steeper slope and that's always a good sign.

Now, considering the press release stuff, do you know how much it costs to issue a press release? SVA, giving us three important positive developments in just one press release is showing it is concerned about controlling costs  ;D Also, the PR has just a few words, and PR are paid by the word  ;D

Well, of course, I consider more important to keep the investor community well informed than the cost of the press release, just kidding. But this way of sending out the news will probably make the news spread even more, as traders and speculators will pass along the story as something not totally recognized or uncovered, and that will probably add even more fire to the bull run on SVA !

I don't need to say anything more about SVA, there's no doubt I will continue holding the stock, I'm expecting a big day tomorrow as the story spreads.

Thought I would post here just so that the helpful guys in SVA IR don't get needlessly harassed by the same questions I had.

1. The press release from this morning is authentic. China indeed is doing as the news states.

2. The strange presentation of the financing announcement this morning (combining a conference update and financing) was on purpose. There was pressure from external parties to present it this way.

My read was that China wants to keep this as quiet as possible, while allowing SVA to fulfill its disclosure requirements.

3. The next announcement regarding bird flu is likely to be the announcement of application to conduct clinical trials. It seems the bird flu vaccine is in testing with animals right now. Timeframe not yet provided.

4. It appears that the reason that China "chose" SVA was due to China's success with SVA vis a vis SARS vaccine. It seems that SVA has earned the respect of China.

Just passing it along. I was very confused by the format of this morning's announcement, and it appears that there are real reasons for it.

Thanks for that post Se7en, it is a plausible explanation  :)

SVA surprised me with this kind of slow profit taking day. It looks like Michael and Aussietrader, demanding louder press releases, were right. It's incredible but perhaps not many people payed enough attention to the news:

«BEIJING, Sep 20, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sinovac Biotech Ltd (SVA) today announced that it will present at the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) Global Life Sciences Conference; has received a government grant for the development of an avian flu vaccine for humans; and received a USD 4.94 million dollar commercial credit line from a Chinese commercial bank.»

Anyway, the trend is still bullish and I will continue, without a doubt, holding SVA.

David Randolph

TL2 will be standing at $3.96 tomorrow. But given the fundamentals of the company I won't use this trendline as a barometer for trading decisions, but TL1. I'm afraid a false technical signal puts me out of this very fundamentally promising stock. Of course I would prefer if TL2 held SVA, since that would mean the short term action is more bullish than otherwise.

TL1 for tomorrow will be standing at $3.14, rising just $0.02 per trading day.

Here's an interesting story from someone who had the avain flu. Sounds like a potiential nightmare if we ever have a world wide epidemic. I hope Sva is in the right place.

Thanks for the link johnbmcginnis  :) I hope this disease doesn't turn into something really problematic on a regional or even global scale. Just because they ate a duck ... I hope SVA and others prepare the vaccine really fast.

Technically the stock is great after a 2.53% rise on Friday. I made a small adjustment to my TL2 to reflect yesterday touch, this way it seems more accurate. I will undoubtedly continue holding SVA, it looks like a great investment from the fundamental side and technicals support that assumption.

David Randolph

I'm running late on these updates today, what can I say about SVA? Another day, another high  :)

Thanks for your kind words maxi  :) I'm looking forward to the coming year too  :)

As rickjust just said, SVA is on a steady upward trend with volume above average. I will continue holding SVA, since I need to let profits run to take them when they are big, to more than compensate for the small losses I must take along the way too.

TL2 for today stands at $4.11.
