Market down and ONT is approaching yearly high on high volume.

@ $1.37, should run some more into close and could be active AH and PM Monday! ;D

Congrats boatguy, that's a nice looking candle. You're being rewarded for hanging on.  If I were still in it I'd be considering taking some profits off the table at around 1.47 just in case.

boatguy

Funny you should mention that, if you read the thread I sold almost half at 1.48 a year ago almost to the day ;D

I think I will give ONT some room- great story and lots of potential if we can just get through the 1.5 area.

I think it is On2's time like David said and I am going to pay and see if I am right ;D

Nice trade Bocasva, 30%+ in a couple days is nothing to complain about!! Applaud!

HANDBALLJIM

It seems way to early to sell ONT a company that has technology that is in demand. The only thing that bothers me is that they have a lot of outstanding shares.

Are any members of 3SOF community going to this event?
I will be in Vegas  >:D at the end of the month working a trade show with the company I work for...but I would love to be at this show though. I hope ONT will have a nice presentation at their booth or perhaps release a new surprise product.

Hey isn't this On2!?

If ONT provides products/services to so many large companies why does it only make $2M/quarter and it does not even have the minimum stockholders equity of $2.5M required by Nasdaq? Do they give away these products and services. What is noticed too is that ONT has one of the highest P/S ratios that I've ever seen (over 20 i believe).

boatguy

Coco,  Looks like you just became a member, why does it not surprise me the only post you have anything good to say about is Rayongthai. You do not fool anyone with your multiple identities. ;)

ONT has gone a bit parabolic since the December Rising Channel breakout, and it's up better than 150% off the July low.

The Rising Channel target of 1.35 MADE last Thursday.  I don't know anything about the fundamentals on it, and parabolic rallies can take on a life or their own, but it also could be "sell Las Vegas." Personally, I always take some off the table when targets get MADE.

Holygrale,

Yesterday's candle was a Bearish Doji Star Hangman (the open and close nearly were identical).  It's only bearish with follow-thru to the downside, but you know how I get suspicious about "sell the news" (CES this week).

Before I comment further, folder applauds to boatguy, HANDBALLJIM, setravis, bocasva, se7en, njshiva, oliver, mitchjas, David and Holygrale.  Nice job guys!

boatguy was really on the ball in  late November, with that Bullish Cross of the 50/200DMAs.  On December 1, ONT sat down on the 50DMA at $0.78, and it was off to the races after that.

Time to pick ONT, nice reward/risk ratio at this price.
Low volume retrace and plus it looks to me like a STEPS candidate.
In at 1.01

Very nice entry (and exit), bocasva!

Your entry was a couple of pennies above the channel (green) validation on December 27, and your exit was a few cents from the 1.35 channel (blue) target that MADE.  Nice!

Here's what I've got:

1. As all of you know, I take some profits when targets get MADE.  The blue channel breakout (in mid-December) target of 1.35 MADE, so you might want to take some. off the table.

2. The December 27 low of $0.99, when bocasva and se7en bought, was a direct hit to the bottom of the green channel, which was at $0.9885.  That third hit validates the channel bottom as support, and especially given the steep upward slope of that channel, a downside break "should have" some significance.

For today, January 9, the bottom of the channel comes in at 1.12994, so a print of 1.12 would be a technical break of that support.

The slope of the channel is 0.01571, so add that amount each day.

3. January 5 and January 8, both closes were less than a penny above the top of the channel, which incidentally, is exactly parallel to the bottom of the channel.   That isn't a convincing breakout.

It puts me in mind of GIGM last September, when it traded in that steep upward-sloping channel, but couldn't put on the booster rockets, and blast out of there.

If today's session is a black candle, it's going to look like a Bearish Evening Star after Friday's nice white candle, and yesterday's Bearish Doji Star Hangman.

ONT looks committed to go even more parabolic than it already has (the slope of the green channel is much steeper than the slope of the blue one) so if a Bearish Evening Star shows up at the top of this channel (green), that could cause the momo boys to get weak-kneed, and could bring in enough selling to eventually break below the channel (green)

A little more hesitation here would be okay, but I'd like to see another big white candle soon, taking out the top of the channel convincingly.

I also wish that I had read this folder before this morning.  :D

I'm much too late to the trade.  :(

Nice job on this one, guys, and good luck to everyone!

Down 8% in the early going.

Basis the hourly chart, the channel off the December 27 low of $0.99 has been broken to the downside, and ONT has rallied a little to re-test it.

The open of Friday's white candle was 1.27...the close was 1.36, so a close today at 1.31, or less, would qualify for a 3-Day Bearish Evening Star pattern at the top of the steeper channel on the daily chart.

It would need downside confirmation, of course.

ONT currently is BID 1.30...ASK 1.31

[if a Bearish Evening Star shows up at the top of this channel (green), that could cause the momo boys to get weak-kneed,

Down 11%.  The momo boys aren't liking this morning's channel break.

Thanks for the great tech analysis, Elf, much appreciated.

Down hard today, looks like a close @ $1.19, -.18...  How low do you think it will go tomorrow if it breaks down through the lower channel boundary line in the a.m., as it's looking like it might?

Se7en

I'm still in, support around 1.18-1.20, let's hope this holds ... ::)

Hi, stockster!

Welcome to 3SOF.

I'm out of bullets for the day and ready to sign off, but I'll post some thoughts on this chart to you early tomorrow morning, well ahead of the open.

Have a good evening!  ;)
