David, I know that this portfolio is supposed to be under $500M so this is not the place for this pick, but is there another place where you would like this requested?  We used to have the analysis on demand section, but that was replaced by the 3SOF portfolio.  I am just afraid that by only focusing on the micro and very small cap companies, you will not have the time to find new picks for the main portfolio of stocks that are over $500M.  The newest picks over there are "graduates" of the 3SOF portfolio.

There is a lot of money to be made from the $500M-$5B picks too, but I don't know if anyone is looking for these anymore.  I just checked SYX's market cap at the time of purchase for the main portfolio, and it was $503M   :P   Now it has passed $1 Billion.  You might never have found it under the current operational format.

You are doing such a great job and spending a lot of time with this, making everyone lots of money but will you miss the next SYX if it has a market cap of $600M?  Just a suggestion.  Thanks, keep up the great work :)

David Randolph

The "Analysis on Demand" thread still exists in the Members Corner and I'll be glad to make 3 minute looks on every stock you like, whatever market cap you desire (I'm also interested in larger companies for the Main Portfolio)

You know what? Let me put that thread back up to the Main Portfolio message board so we'll start using it again for above $500 M market cap companies.

Thanks for the suggestion, it was a great one ! (applaud)

What about ABT.TO

ABSOLUTE SOFTWARE CORP

Market: Toronto

Sorry kpunarc, please read the 3 SOF Portfolio FAQ, only NYSE, Nasdaq, AMEX and OTCBB stocks allowed. The reason for this is that I don't have technical and fundamental data for Canadian stocks.

Absolutely nica33, great stock you got there :)

I'm new to this so sorry if this is a dumb question.  Can you explain a little about keeping ETLT and PFSW if they are no longer on fire?  I am new to the analysis of stocks and am still trying to get a handle on all the lingo.

CECE is having a correction, which is great ! If it goes down to the $13 area I'll probably buy it to the Main Portfolio, I need something in the environment space and CECE looks like an astounding pick in that sector. The stock was already covered, as you can find on the Stocks Covered List under "C".

It was actually a great question Marie, I was expecting for someone to make it.

I know it sounds strange and a bit of a strategy shift.

My reasoning is this:

- Those two stocks still look technically bullish. ETLT.OB still didn't close below the key $0.79 support. PFSW is now building the second shoulder of an inverted head and shoulders pattern in my opinion.
- Fundamentals remain very attractive for the two stocks. I wrote about ETLT's fundamentals in previous days, I don't want to be shaken out just by short term technical weakness, since I see the stock doubling over the next couple of months. PFSW is in a bottoming process and those usually take some time.

But my main reason is you ! I want to build a valuable service that helps people turn a little $15,000 trading account into a $150,000 investment account. That was and it still his the main purpose and objective of the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio.

For example, I bought ETLT.OB at $0.80, but I know many of you, readers of my analysis, bought at a higher price. Perhaps I could have sold at $0.90 or above and book a nice short term profit, but that probably would have been made, at least partially, at your expense.

That wouldn't make this a valuable service, would it? It would make me some money on that day, but I'm a long term worker and my portfolio is the Main.

I work for income and invest for wealth creation. For income I want to grow the 3 Stocks project with my partner and long time friend Ramsburg.

We'll probably put a cap at 1,000 subscribers when he comes back from holidays. We don't need more than that, and the service quality would decline if we accepted more.

Anyway, I guess you see my point. I expect the market to show all people here why it was wise to keep on holding ETLT.OB and PFSW a little longer than usual. Time will tell us the answer.

Thanks :)

what about nxxi?  positive report and diabetes and weight loss, segments where it can grow considering the population that can be affected or helped by chromax.

Thank you!!!  And by the way- I've learned more from you and this site than I have on any other.  It's great to be with a good-natured and respectful crowd who is really interested in what we're doing here.

ECGI is really an interesting situation 2bun, I'm not even going to do a video on it as it takes too much time.

Technically the stock couldn't be anything else but bullish, since it is rising 36% with the highest volume in more than a year.

Fundamentally:

- Market cap is $73 M. An international consumer and retail branding company and a merchant banking and financial services company.
- Balance sheet was incredibly strong, that's why they bought back so many shares, it's almost unbelievable. We'll get to this in a moment.
- Revenue trends ... they declined by a lot in 2006, I wonder why ???
- EPS has been negative for the past few quarters, but the big news is:

• Envoy Communications Group Inc. announces first quarter fiscal 2007 results
PR Newswire (Tue 8:00am)

«During January 2007 Envoy announced that it had purchased and cancelled 9,002,383 common shares pursuant to the modified Dutch Auction tender offer launched in fiscal 2006. The aggregate cost of repurchasing these shares was $28.7 million or, $3.19 per share. The shares purchased and cancelled represented 46.5% of Envoy's issued and outstanding common shares. The cash required to purchase these shares was made available from Envoy's $57.4 million investment portfolio at year end.»

This means the share count was reduced from 19,437,820 shares to 10,419,032, and that means the current market cap is 10,419,032*$3.77 = $39.2 M, not $73 M as I wrote previously.

«After giving effect to the Dutch Auction Envoy's book value per issued and outstanding share, based on the December 31, 2006 financial statements, was $4.60. This represents an increase in the net book value per share of $1.03 or a 28.9% increase.»

«Envoy estimates that the weighted average fully diluted shares outstanding for fiscal 2007 will be approximately 12,686,000.»

So, after all, expected market cap at $3.77 is $47.8 M.

As for EPS, it was 8 cents for the 4th quarter, but with this reduction in the share count, it would have been 15 cents (the share count was almost cut in half, that means EPS almost doubles).

If they make four quarters like this, they will earn $0.6 EPS and that would put the earnings multiple at $3.71/$0.6 = 6, which is low.

I wonder if all this news was expected or not, this is such a strange situation. It is the first time I see a company actually buying back almost half of its outstanding shares.

Anyway, with the current public information and brief study I made I guess EGCI is a nice momentum play for this week. I would like to look deeper into details, but that would take me hours ... wait, hmmmm. They could have issued preferred shares in exchange for these common shares.

Something smells fishy on ECGI.

Good luck :)

Ok, just found out now, the news for ICGI was expected. There were several prior press releases talking about a "issuer bid". The question is: how did they get the money to do this and why have they done it?

Let's dig some more ...

Ok, just found out that they sold some subsidiaries and used the money to buy back their own shares.

I'm not sure, but this looks like the company is selling its business by parts and buying back and retiring its common shares and go home with the profits, ending the company's operations.

Too complex to find out in such a short period of time. Usually I don't run after these situations related to share count changes ... but I really don't know, I wish the best of luck if you're in 2bun, and if you have a more specific question on a detail of this company, don't hesitate to ask, but I can't grasp the whole picture in such a short period of time.

Thanks :)

I second & third that.  After 4 years of trading I have learned to BEWARE the message boards and chats as most are not what they seem.  This one is different, David really does want to help others grow wealth  :D :)
