3 Stocks on Fire is a name with history on the internet — one of the early-internet US stock-market sites, from the era when amateurs and professionals argued about Cisco, ImClone, and pets.com on phpBB forums and traded penny stocks on charts that rendered as GIFs. Today, the name belongs to a different project: a small editorial publication on markets.

We do long. Long biographies of the people who built the playbook — Livermore, Graham, Buffett, Soros, Lynch, Dalio, Burry, Munger, Icahn, Bogle, Simons, the Hunt brothers. Long histories of the crashes that shaped how markets are regulated — 1929, 1987, the Asian Crisis, LTCM, the dot-com unwind, 2008, the Flash Crash, COVID, GameStop. Primers on technical and fundamental analysis from people who actually use them. A deep encyclopedia of stock-market terminology, ratios, instruments, and structures.

Who writes here

Eight independent writers do the work — full bios on the Authors page. A retired floor trader in Connecticut, a Boston value investor who reads 10-Ks for entertainment, a macro writer in London, a former Treasury analyst in Washington, a South Florida prop trader who lives on a boat, an ex-engineer in San Francisco, a financial planner in Minneapolis, and a younger software developer working out of Lisbon.

Each piece carries a byline, a date, and a specific person behind it. No staff editor pretending to know everything; no anonymous work; no syndication; no aggregation.

What we publish

Long-form, edited, signed. A few pieces a week, not many. The core editorial output is biography, market history, and technical and fundamental method — topics that reward depth. When a writer's beat warrants it, we also publish current commentary, analysis, and opinion pieces. Whatever the format, each piece carries a byline and a date, and every factual claim is sourced.

Quality over volume. Slow editorial.
